In the previous episode, when Tim left after the dinner at Carries he kissed her and Austin saw them. Later on Austin was in his room trying to work out why that upset him. Today Tim asks Carrie out on a follow up date but Carrie is trying to find reasons not to go. Austin tells Tim to leave her alone. Carrie goes back to Ballistix and Roman comes in to see her. One of the other girls tells her in front of Roman that the boss said that she can't have a pay advance. Carrie is forced to tell Roman that she borrowed money from Marlena for the dinner last night. Later again Carrie tells Tim that she will go out with him. Austin has his own problems as he is informed that "she" has left and they don't know whether she is clean. Billie (Lisa Rinna) is first seen in Salem wearing a short, tight hot pink dress. Austin was playing the piano at Wings, and she started singing the "Come Rain or Shine." Carrie got jealous when Austin embraced Billie. Austin introduces Billie to Julie who asks her to sing with Austin in the next set. Carrie is still watching them as they go for a break. Austin wants to know where she has been and why she didn't get in touch with him. She tells him that she's clean finally and that everything is fine. They go back and complete the last set. Carrie and Tim leave and Billie asks Austin who she is. He tells her Carrie is a friend and a neighbor. Billie remarks that she saw the way Austin looked at her and also the way Carrie looked at Billie. Austin brushes it off and they go home. Meanwhile Carrie and Tim are kissing back at her flat when she hears Billie's voice next door. She breaks off the kiss and asks Tim to go home - she wants to get to know him better before they go any further. He acquiesces and leaves.Carrie takes some flowers down to the Pub. It is the opening party tonight. Austin is there with Billie and they are sitting at the piano doing a number. Carrie gets upset and leaves. Later on she is at the hospital with Tim who hurt his thumb trying to put up a shelf for her. She asks him to go to the pub opening with her. Carrie goes to the party with Tim but is disturbed when she finds Austin there with Billie. She goes outside with Tim to get some fresh air and they kiss until she sees Austin. Tim asks them what they have going on and says that they are not going to use him to make each other jealous. Carrie says that's not how it is, she's here with him just like Austin is here with his date Billie. Austin tells her incredulously that Billie is not his date, she's his sister. Carrie is busy angsting over Austin, Austin is angsting over Carrie. Tim tells them to leave him out of their little games and Austin follows Carrie down to The Pier. She angsts some more. She cares about him but she has lost all her self confidence because that is what she always does. But she won't do it any more. And he doesn't like her - he's told Tim that right? Wrong. He grabs her pulls her close and kisses her, Carrie kisses back but she suddenly pulls away and tells him he's not being fair. Under his breath Austin mutters "If only things were different", and tells her he's taking her home.
