Carrie has the beginnings of a crush on Austin and "accidentally" (really on purpose) bumps into him and gets herself invited to a band rehearsal of some of Austin's friends.

Carrie Brady's History Up To 1992

From 1986 until 1991, John Black was believed to be Roman Brady. We will refer to him as RoJohn so as not to confuse him with the real Roman Brady

Caroline Anna Brady "Carrie" (played by Andrea Barber from 1982) was born to Roman Brady and Anna Fredericks Brady in March of 1974. Anna and Roman had been separated before Carrie was born (Anna and Carrie were on a slave ship), so Roman Brady didn't even know about Carrie until she was about 6 years old. At that time he was in love with Dr.Marlena Evans Craig. Roman and Marlena married February 3, 1984, making Carrie part of a new family. Roman and Marlena had twins Samantha Gene Brady "Sami" and Eric Roman Brady "Eric" who were born October 16, 1984. Carrie loved her new brother and sister. Also helping in Carrie's raising was her mother Anna Fredericks and her new husband Tony DiMera. Carrie was still pretty young when Roman Brady fell of the cliff and "died" thanks to Stephano in 1984. Carrie liked John Black when she first met him, but became wary of him when everyone suspected he was Stephano DiMera. John was discovered to be Roman Brady on March 16, 1986.

Carrie was not happy when Marlena told her that the man she knew as John Black was actually her father on March 21, 1986 (Christie Clark assumed the role of Carrie Brady at this time). Eventually Carrie accepted John as Roman and she acted as a bridesmaid when he and Marlena were married August 22, 1986. After Marlena "died" in a plane crash on April 23, 1987, Carrie, Sami and Eric were raised first by RoJohn and Diana Colville. During this time Carrie had teenage crushes on Julio and Frankie. She was chosen to be in a B movie about ghosts and vampires, which turned out bad after Carrie was arrested for cocaine possession after innocently having freebasing equipment in her possession. After Diana also left, Carrie went to Europe to be with her mother on January 18, 1991 and the twins were raised by RoJohn and Isabella Toscano.

On August 16, 1991, the same night John got engaged to Isabella, Marlena suddenly turned up alive! Soon it was discovered that Roman Brady was also alive, and that John Black was only John Black. John stepped away and let Roman and Marlena raise their children together. The twins bonded with them.

1992: Events Up To Austin's Arrival

Carrie Brady returned to Salem on January 10, 1992 on a stormy night (with Tracy Middendorf assuming the role) and was first seen by John Black, the man she had believed to be her father. It took Carrie time to accept that it was not John's fault that he believed he was Roman, but Stephano DiMera's. She openly embraced her real father Roman Brady. However, after realizing that none of what had happened with Roman had been John's fault, Carrie became close to John and Isabella, and their son Brady Victor Black was like a brother. At this time, Carrie had a crush on Lawerence Alamain. He used the crush to get information about John and Isabella. Carrie was there when it was revealed that John Black was actually Forrest Alamain. In the meantime she got her own apartment and for a short time had a new friend named Jesse Lombard. Jesse had a crush on Carrie, but Carrie became interested in Austin. This is where their story begins.
