The Belle Kidnapping Storyline Begins

Curtis Reed Is Murdered

Bo finally breaks the kiss and Billie tells him the rules say a dollar a kiss. So she owes him nineteen more kisses. Bo says he hates to break the rules and goes in for another. A kid interrupts him and tells him not to hog all the time. Bo goes to talk to Caroline and tell her he's been a selfish jerk. He tells her he took advantage of Billie and he's not ready for love yet. However she talks to him about it and he goes and tried to invite Billie out to dinner. However, he gets interrupted by Mickey and leaves before asking her properly.

Carrie and Austin talk some at the fair....Lucas sulks because Carrie won't talk to him and she spends some time with Alan. Shawn Douglas tells Carrie that Bo is going to make up for not inviting Billie out and she follows him to see Bo give (through Mickey) Billie flowers. Shawn Douglas tells Carrie he has a plan to get them together, but he needs her help.

Kate is at Titan. She gets into the elevator but Curtis puts his hand between the doors and jumps in there with her. He threatens her bodily and threatens to tell Victor the truth about Kate. Kate tells him to stay away from Victor and he says he might go to Lucas too. He tells her that she has to get him the money tonight and that he will find her anywhere, anytime. Kate convinces Victor to take her to the fair. She wants to see Mickey to find out about getting the Countess Wilhemina company. At the fair, she talks to Lucas and tells him to forget everything that she told him about her past. Then she sees Mickey and tells him to serve those papers on Billie tonight. Curtis dodges Peter at the fair and he finds Kate. She doesn't want to talk to him out in the open and takes him off. Austin is walking along with the video camera and sees Curtis's face in the viewfinder for a moment. He is unsettled as he thinks the face is familiar. Curtis threatens to hurt Kate if she doesn't give him the money and Lucas sees him pushing Kate around. Peter comes across Curtis but Abe chases them before he can do anything.

Kate gives Curtis all the money she has on her and tells him that she will call him later. She leaves and Lucas confronts him about what he was talking to Kate about. Curtis doesn't say anything and Lucas goes home and gets an old box of Kate's stuff from the attic. He finds a picture of Kate and Curtis. Kate tells him to destroy the picture and tells him she never wants him to talk about it again. Lucas sees that she's shaking and wants to know if she's seen Curtis lately. She says no. Later she calls Mickey and tells him she's desperate for the money...he has to serve those papers on Billie tonight.

Carrie and Shawn-D decide to throw a party to get Bo and Billie together (it's ostensibly for Bo's birthday). Grandpa Victor is going to spring for it. The theme for the party is romance....and Bo and Billie are to go as Romeo and Juliet. Mickey serves the papers on Billie and tells Billie he saw a stranger outside. She realizes that it was Curtis and goes down to see him. Curtis gives her one of the pieces of Kristen's jewelry to wear to the party but tells her it's not stolen, it's a fake. Billie goes to buy a dress but finds that her Countess Wilhemina checkbook has been frozen so she buys some material and a pattern. Only problem is she can't sew. Roman comes across a picture of Curtis in the Stefano's stuff but doesn't recognize him.

Billie makes a hash of the dress but then Alice turns up. She tells Billie she will help her find something in her wardrobe. Billie comes out looking frumpy and Alice gives her a bag and tells her to try this on. Alice tells Carrie that she went over and borrowed Maggie's machine...as a last resort.

Kate goes to Marlena and tells her that Curtis is back. Marlena asks Kate what she's going to do, this is blackmail. Kate says she is going to pay him off. Marlena tells her that if she does, Curtis will just keep coming back. Kate tells her she knows...that's part of the reasoning she came to see her, she keeps thinking that the only way to get rid of him is to kill him. And that's what she swears she'll do if he threatens her family. Marlena tells her she could never kill anyone. Kate says she hopes to god Marlena is right. Marlena advises her to tell Victor about it all, she might be surprised how understanding he will be. Kate says it's not a matter of that...it's a matter of being able to face him again. She leaves and Marlena tells her to call her any time. Meanwhile, Lucas searches down a stoned Curtis but Curtis runs. Kate arrives at the party, she and Victor are dressed as Bonnie and Clyde. She spots Marlena and Roman, dressed as Cleopatra and Antony. Later, Bo arrives and then Billie as Juliet dressed in a gorgeous costume.

Stefano and Peter arrange to have Curtis found. Stefano says that by tonight he will be out of the picture.

The party continues. Curtis calls Kate and tells her he's on the fourth floor. She goes to meet him and he demands his money. She promises she'll get him the money tonight and she arranges to meet him at the apartment building at midnight. However Lucas follows her and overhears and Victor oversees them on the security monitor. However, later Kate discovers that Billie still has three days to call in the loan so she asks Victor to give her $100,000.

Carrie and Austin talk and Austin thinks Carrie is very cynical about love. She tells him she is just protecting herself, she doesn't want to be his girl among other girls. She asks where Brandee is and he wants to know what she's talking about.

Billie goes out on the balcony and she prays. She knows if she is to have a future with Bo, she has to tell him the truth about Curtis. Bo follows her out to the balcony at the Grill and they kiss. He tells her he's confused and she tells him she isn't, she has feelings for him and she'll wait. He says he can always count on her to be completely honest. She leaves and tells him she'll be back. However Ozzie turns up and tells Bo that they have made a positive id on the gunman and gives him the picture of Curtis. Bo says that they are wrong, Billie couldn't id him. Ozzie tells him the id was definite, Billie must be lying. Billie meanwhile goes to see Curtis and tells him she has to tell Bo the truth. Curtis wants to know about her love for her old man. She tells him she's made a decision about who she loves more, she's sorry. She goes to leave, but Curtis yanks her back and starts yelling at her.

Bo argues with Ozzie for a while, but he wants to talk to Billie. They look for her at Titan, but can't find her. Bo starts to worry and he and Roman leave the party and go looking for her at all her usual hangouts. Meanwhile at the party Austin is getting depressed over Carrie. Jenn turns up and persuades him to leave. The go back to his apartment and watch the video tape from the affair. Austin sees Curtis and decides he must be a double...until he remembers that they never went to a funeral. He tells Jenn that if Curtis were alive he would go to Billie....Downstairs, Curtis tells Billie she fell for all his lies and he was using her. He tries to get her to take a hit but she hears a noise and starts screaming. Curtis silences her, telling her he'll break her neck. Bo and Roman meet up in the basement and Curtis waits till they go. Billie tells him she's glad Bo didn't find her, she'd hate him to find out she's related to scum like him. Curtis tells her Bo only wants her for one thing and tells he she's still a lowlife slut. She has been ever since she was thirteen. And he oughta know, he was her first. He threatens to rape her again but she eventually gets out of there and goes back up to the apartment. She is sitting down with her head in her hands when someone touches her on the shoulder. She jumps, but it's Bo. He, however, wants to know what the hell is going on. Meanwhile, a worried Austin is looking for her and he runs into Wendy. She tells him she's seen Billie going too and from the basement a lot. Austin heads down to the basement and finds Curtis there. He can't believe it and says that Curtis is dead. Curtis tells him his old man is alive and well and living underneath him. Austin tells him that he may be breathing now but once Austin is finished with him he'll wish he was dead.

Sami walks in on Marlena calling the hospital. Belle is jaundiced and needs to have more blood tests. Sami gets a little antsy about the tests and Marlena and Roman want to know why. She says she is just worried about Belle and whether they are safe. Later Marlena and Roman overhear her talking to Jamie saying that no-one can ever find out the truth. She lies and tells them that she was talking to Jamie about the bulimia. They believe her for some unknown reason. Lexie comes by and asks Marlena if she can stay with them and Marlena tells her she can. Later Marlena calls Roman at the station and asks him to come home so she can talk to him. Sami overhears her and comes out after she's on the phone and asks her not to tell Roman about the affair.

Kate gets the money from Victor to take to Curtis. But she discovers that Lucas is not home. Actually, he's at the park and he's just bought a gun.

Austin tells Curtis to stay away from Billie and hits him a couple of times. Upstairs Billie lies to Bo and tells him she's upset over the business. Ozzie turns up and they tell Billie about the positive ID. Billie says she's sorry but she can't ID him and after they leave she goes out for a walk. Austin leaves Curtis and goes upstairs to look for Billie. Carrie tells him she's gone out for a walk. He goes out to look for her but comes back to tell Carrie he can't find her. He goes out again and Carrie grabs her coat and goes out too. Down in the park Billie is walking around. Eventually she comes across Curtis who has just scored. She screams at him that she hated him and he drags her away to the park with his hand over her mouth. In the park he hits her and then injects her with whatever he scored.

Austin goes down to the basement and finds that no-one is there. Carrie comes down and tells him Billie is her friend and she's going to help find her. Curtis does something to Billie and then drags her back to his room. He has another hit but Kate knocks on the door. He covers Billie with a sheet and lets Kate in. Lucas comes a knocking but Curtis threatens to blow him away if Kate makes a noise so he doesn't get any answer and then leaves. Kate tells Curtis to count the money and then says that this nightmare is finally over. Curtis says that it's not over, this is only the first of many payments. Kate tells him the deal is off, he tells her he's going to make her pay and he beats her. She gets home and Victor and Lucas find her all bruised. She tells them she fell down some steps but they don't believe her. They take her up to her room and look after her for a while. Then they both supposedly head for bed and then separately they leave to find Curtis. Kate goes into the bathroom and washes her face before looking at the locket with the pictures of her children. Then she pulls out a gun and checks it. Meanwhile, Billie comes to and collects herself saying Damn you Curtis. Carrie and Austin end up at the pier. Austin sees Curtis and sends Carrie off to the pub. He warns Curtis that if he has touched Billie, he will kill him. Down in the ally, Curtis is about to take a hit of coke when someone raises a gun and shoots him.

Kate gets back and pretends to be asleep when Victor comes in. However, Vic sees the mud on her shoes. Lucas gets home slightly after them and makes out that he's been raiding the refrigerator. Back at the apartment, Austin finds Billie on the floor again.

Billie has a nightmare about killing Curtis on the sofa in the apartment. Austin has been sleeping in the chair and he wakes her up and holds her. He tells her that Curtis will never be able to hurt them again. Carrie comes out and wants to know what happened to Billie. Billie hedges, she can't remember what happened. Later she remembers Curtis injecting her. Austin says that he swore he hadn't touched her. Down in the ally Bo helps Wendy take some boxes down and they find Curtis' body. The police arrive and Carrie comes down. Billie and Austin follow her down and when they eventually turn the body over, Billie faints. Roman sees a footprint in the blood and recognizes It a s a woman's high heel. Austin takes her back upstairs and tells her that all they have to do is forget about Curtis. As long as no-one knows Curtis was their father, they'll be fine. However, Billie thinks she may have been the one to kill Curtis and her missing shoes might be the key. Meanwhile Kate admits to Victor that the dead man was the man that beat her last night and the one that beat her in the past. Victor tells her that no-one else will never know and that this will be their secret. Lucas overhears and says that no-one else will ever know.

Roman, Bo and John learned from Interpol that Curtis used to work for Stefano. They also found Kristen's jewels in the basement of Carrie, Billie and Austin's building. Roman and John concluded that Stefano hired Curtis to shoot John in the parking lot and Curtis betrayed Stefano by abducting him, Kristen payed the ransom with her jewels and Stefano wanted revenge on Curtis and had him killed.

Billie is still convinced that she is responsible for Curtis's murder but Austin keeps insisting that she could not have killed anyone. He further insisted that Billie not tell anyone that they knew Curtis as it could lead to them being suspects. Austin, Billie, Carrie, Alan and Bo were having dinner when Bo got a call from a cop in the alley. Bo ran down to see that the cop had found a piece of blue material which Bo recognized as being from Billie's dress.

Marlena told Sami that she would not tell Roman the truth about her affair with John, after seeing how Abe could not forgive Lexie for betraying him. Sami was relieved but later a friend of hers from the hospital told her there had been a goof-up with Belle's blood tests. Sami questioned this and the guy explained that the tests would indicate that Sami and Belle had different fathers.

Sami's friend from the hematology department was about to check Belle's blood tests but Sami pulled the plug on the computer, losing the data from the tests. He claimed he was too busy to do anything about the tests and finally accepted that there had been a mistake in this run of tests. Sami was relieved but Jamie pointed out that there was always the possibility of more tests being run in the future.

Bo found that the piece of material found in the alley matched exactly a hole in Billie's dress. Bo asked Billie how the tear happened. Billie was about to answer when Austin returned. He told Bo that Billie had tripped and tore her dress when they were returning to the building at 11.00pm. While Austin was saying this, Bo saw the cut on Billie's hand. Austin explained that Billie cut it when she fell. It doesn't look as if Bo believes them.

Austin prepared to throw out all his father possessions so no one would be able to make the connection between Curtis and he and Billie. Jennifer arrived and Austin told her that the murdered man was his father. Jen told Austin that the police were after any information about the murder and tried to get him to go to the police. Austin told Jen that he wouldn't and that he and Billie were better off with no one knowing. Jen then agreed not to say anything to anyone, especially the police. She encouraged Austin to get rid of any ties between him and Curtis.

Jen told Alice that the private detective that Jo had hired to find Jack had found nothing but she was considering hiring him to find Austin's mother. Alice did not think this was a good idea. Jennifer stole Austin's mother wedding ring in hopes that it would be a lead to finding her. Wendy told Austin and Jennifer that Jonah had been arrested for being the Pacifier and the three of them told Jonah they would all do anything to help. Austin suggested that he and Jen do a show on Jonah. Jen loved the idea and Jonah was happy that they were all supporting him.

Abe warned Bo not to let his feelings for Billie interfere with the Curtis investigation. He ordered Bo to collect the Juliet dress so that tests could be run on it. Billie continued to express her doubts over her guilt. She could not remember anything and was afraid she was guilty. Billie threw the dress in the trash where it was picked up by a bag lady.

Wendy accidentally let Carrie know that she had heard Billie arguing with someone in the alley on the night of the murder.

Bo questioned Austin, Billie and Carrie about their actions the night that Curtis was murdered. Austin told Bo that he and Billie had been together all night except for a few minutes when he was with Carrie. Bo asked Carrie whether this was true and she backed up Austin's story even though she knew it was a lie. Bo then asked Billie what she was doing for those moments when she was alone and Billie told him that she could not remember. Bo told Austin and Carrie to leave. Austin did not want to but Billie told him to. Bo told Billie that he cared for her and he was starting to have feelings for her. He, again, asked her what she was doing and she answered she could not remember. Bo asked her if she could not remember because she was drunk. Billie told him that was not it. Billie was rubbing her arm while talking to Bo and he noticed this. He asked her if she was on drugs and she did not answer. He asked again then grabbed her arm and pushed up the sleeve. He saw the needle mark and was appalled.

Bo left Billie's apartment disappointed that she had returned to drugs. Austin arrived and Billie once again told him that she fears she may have killed Curtis. Austin told Billie that she couldn't kill anyone and Billie claimed that she had wished him dead for the things he had done to her. Austin questioned this and Billie told Austin the sad truth that Curtis had raped her repeatedly as a teenager. Austin was horrified and swore to his sister that he would never let anyone hurt her again.

Carrie asked Roman whether there were any leads in the case and he told her there were none. A homeless woman who found Billie's dress in the bin handed it in at the police station. Tests showed that there were fibres from Curtis's clothes all over Billie's dress prompting Bo to go to Billie's apartment with a search warrant and telling Billie she was the prime suspect. On Smith Island, Kristen ran away from the cabin and fell over a cliff. She was hanging on to a branch near the top. John used his shirt as a rope but as she grabbed it, she started to slip and fall.

Jennifer told Alice that she was determined to find Austin's mother. Alice warned her that she should leave the past alone. Jennifer ignored the warning and continued her search for the jewelery store that sold the wedding ring.

Vivian visited Laura again in hopes of getting a response from her. Laura did not speak or move and Vivian left a copy of Bella magazine, opened to a photo of Kate, with Laura. After Viv left, Laura started to screw the photo up. Marlena noticed that Kate had bruising on her face and Kate confided that the man from her past had beaten her once more. Marlena was concerned but Kate told him the man was now dead. Marlena overheard Kate talking to her banker and realised that Kate was going to pay off Curtis but she hadn't. Later at the hospital, Kate saw Jennifer and said something about being sorry that Jennifer had to grow up without her mother. Marlena asked Kate if Laura Horton knew Kate's secret. Kate decided to tell Marlena her secret and Marlena was astonished.

Bo and another cop searched Billie's apartment and found a gun in Billie's drawer. Bo had no choice but to take Billie to the station for questioning. The gun had Billie's prints and no one else's on it. Billie had no memory of ever seeing the gun before and had no idea how it ended up in her drawer. She told Austin of her dream where she shot Curtis but he told her to forget about it.

Carrie ran into Tony for the first time since he arrived back in Salem. He was pleased to see her and amazed at how much she had grown up. He wanted to buy her a coffee but she was on her way to Roman and Marlena's for Thanksgiving dinner and asked him to join her there. At the Brady house, Shawn was in the middle of talking about Stefano and how evil he is when Tony walked in. Marlena managed to convince Tony that their feelings for Stefano were different to their feelings for him and they still wanted to be friends with him. Tony stayed and later Marlena begged Tony to talk to Stefano to ask him to leave her, her family and John alone.

Caroline told everyone that a neighbour, Mrs Potter, had commented on the fact that Brady and Isabella looked like brother and sister. Caroline said that she had told Mrs Potter that they were not related. Sami panicked, knowing that they were related and that if more people saw this resemblance someone may figure out that John was Belle's father.

Austin and Billie hired Mickey as Billie's lawyer. Mickey told them he would need to know everything about the murder. Billie told Mickey that she was on heroin that night and remembered nothing. Austin would not let her tell Mickey that Curtis gave her the heroin or that Curtis was their father. Later Billie realised that Austin did not have an alibi for the time Curtis was killed. She became determined not to say anything, afraid that if the truth came out, Austin would be a suspect.

A drug dealer told Roman and Bo that he sold two lots of drugs to Curtis that night. The first was cocaine ( which was in Curtis's system according to a toxicology report) and the second buy was heroin. Bo remembered the needle marks on Billie's arm. The initial ballistics report was inconclusive and a more accurate result would arrive in a couple of days.

Victor told Kate and Lucas that his sources had told him the police consider Billie to be the prime suspect in the Curtis Brown murder case. Victor told Kate that he wanted to help Billie but Kate was unimpressed.

Lucas remembered that he had shown Carrie a picture of Curtis the night he was murdered and worried that she may make the connection. He went to see her and found that she did not realize the man in the photo was the murdered man.

Carrie told Marlena that she would not come to Thanksgiving dinner as she was having it with Billie and Austin at their apartment. Marlena invited them all over to her house and they all agreed. Billie confided in Marlena that she could not remember anything from that night. Marlena suggested hypnosis but Billie rejected this idea. Bo told Marlena that he believed Billie to be innocent and wanted to prove it. After Thanksgiving dinner, Bo and Billie went outside to talk and make a wish on the wishbone. Inside a policeman arrived with the ballistics report.

John had a dream that Kristen came to him and told him she loved him and not Tony. Later Marlena invited John to join the Brady's at her house. He was to meet Victor and Kate later but agreed to stop by for a little while. His arrival at the house caused aggravation for Sami.

Victor found that Lucas had been issued a speeding ticket the night Curtis was murdered. Victor wanted to know why Lucas had gone out. Lucas admitted that he was out and told Victor when he returned he had noticed that Victor's car was warm, meaning that he had also been out.

The ballistics report arrived at Roman's house at Thanksgiving dinner. Austin asked to be allowed to see it. Outside Bo and Billie talked about rewriting history and what they would do if they had met under different circumstances. Roman interrupted to announce the report had arrived. Bo read it and told Billie that the gun they found in her drawer was the murder weapon. Roman offered to take Bo off the case but Bo asked to be kept on it so he could prove that Billie was innocent. Bo arrested Billie and read her her rights. He didn't want to cuff her but Billie told him she understood he was only doing his job. At the police station she was fingerprinted and photographed.

At the Brady house, Carrie told Austin she was surprised that he did not spend the holiday with Brandee. Austin was confused by this but did not have the opportunity to respond as they were interrupted by Marlena.

Austin realised that he would need to raise money for Billie's bail, even though it had not been set yet. Carrie had the same idea. While talking, the subject of Brandee came up and Carrie told Austin that she knew Brandee was at the cabin with him. Austin told Carrie that he had not invited her and that nothing happened between them. Brandee arrived back from Milan and Austin told her to tell Carrie nothing happened between them. Lucas told Brandee not to say anything to Carrie.

Carrie asked Kate to give Billie back her company, so she could use it to raise money for legal expenses. Kate refused. Lucas managed to talk Kate into allowing Carrie to remain working for Countess Willhemina and carrie was grateful to Lucas for this. Austin asked Kate for a job, playing piano at the penthouse grill, to raise money for Billie. Kate reluctantly agreed but told Austin she was doing it for him and not for Billie. Austin also asked Jennifer for her support in asking the studio bosses for an advance in his salary. Jen readily agreed.

Jennifer tracked down the Mr Patterson who owned the jewellery store in Chicago that sold Austin's mother's wedding ring.

Stefano visited Marlena in her office and through conversation believes she is keeping a secret. Later he asked to speak to Sami and pretended he did not know she was Roman and Marlena's daughter.

Sami panicked when she found out Isabella's blood tests were to be repeated to find the source of error in the original results. Later Jamie told Sami about a friend of theirs from high school who had had a baby and was now arranging a private adoption of the child.

While Roman and John were questioning Stefano and Peter, some papers fell on the floor. A drawing of a woman outside a house caused John to go into a trance. After waking from this, he attacked Stefano threatening to kill him. Peter and Roman broke up the fight. Later John realised that a white stud found at the murder scene was part of a hospital bracelet. He and Roman discovered that Stefano needed a new bracelet the morning after Curtis's murder.

Sami overheard a hospital worker tell Marlena that Belle's blood tests would be repeated the following day. Sami also visited her friend who had just given her baby up for adoption to lend her support.

Billie had the nightmare about shooting Curtis again. Bo saw her and asked what she had been dreaming about but she lied saying she could not remember. Later she told Austin that she intended on pleading guilty at her arraignment that afternoon. Austin couldn't convince her this was a bad idea and told Bo, hoping that he would be able to convince her to change her mind.

Roman and Marlena went out to dinner at the penthouse grill leaving Sami to look after Belle.

Sami was worrying about the blood tests the following day which would show that Roman was not Belle's father. She was worried that this news would destroy her father and she voiced her hatred for Marlena and John and their affair. After Sami put Belle to bed, an unknown person dressed in black broke into the room and went to Belle's crib.

Billie told Bo that she was pleading guilty because she wasn't sure if she did kill Curtis. Bo pleaded with her to enter a plea of not guilty and to give him the chance to prove her innocence. Billie did plea not guilty, much to the relief of Bo, Austin, Carrie, Jonah, Shawn and Caroline. The assistant DA, Pat Hamilton, asked the judge to deny bail. Mickey told the judge that Billie had no history of violent crimes and posed no flight risk. The judge set bail for 1 million dollars. Billie's friends lamented on their inability to raise such an amount while Bo walked off. Later Sean and Caroline told billie that they had paid her bail but Billie could not believe that they had been able to raise the money. Shawn admitted that it was Bo who had paid the bail. Billie went to Bo's boat and worked out that Bo must have mortgaged the boat to raise the money. She asked him why he had done that. He answered that he thought she would know by now and kissed her.
