Belle Is Kidnapped/Curtis Reed Murder Continues

The person wearing black, who broke into Belle's room, picked up Belle and left out the window. Marlena and Roman returned home to find Sami asleep in the living room. Marlena went to check on Belle and found her gone. While looking for Belle, they saw a ladder outside the window. Roman called the police. John was passing by and saw the activity at the house. He came in to see what was wrong and Marlena told him that Belle had been kidnapped. John instantly thought that Stefano was responsible. He left to confront Stefano, while Roman stayed to comfort Marlena and Sami. Tony and Kristen visited Stefano on the eve of their wedding day to get his blessing. Stefano wished the couple the best and assured Kristen she was doing the right thing by marrying Tony. As they were drinking a toast, they heard John outside the room. Kristen rushed out to see what he wanted. John told Kristen that Belle had been kidnapped. Tony and Kristen were upset by this and asked who would do such a thing. John openly accused Stefano.

Bo told Billie that he wanted to start a relationship with her but they would have to wait until the murder investigation was over. He warned Billie that Pat Hamilton could not find out about their involvement. Bo took Billie to the basement where Curtis hid, hoping that the place would cause her to remember what happened the night Curtis died. Billie had a number of flashbacks, remembering threatening Curtis, Curtis drugging her and seeing Curtis's gun. She told Bo that she remembered Curtis giving her heroin. She ran out of the storage room and saw Curtis standing on the stairs.

The man Billie saw on the stairs ran and was caught by Bo. He claimed to be a new tenant looking for the laundry room. Later he was revealed as a photographer for a tabloid newspaper and he managed to get a photo of Bo holding Billie. Billie tried to get the camera off him but Bo let him go. Upstairs, Billie told Austin and Carrie how she mistook the man for Curtis and told Austin that Curtis was still ruining their lives. Bo asked what Billie meant by this. Austin explained Billie was confused but Bo did not believe him. Bo agreed to drop the point, for the moment, because Billie was upset but wanted to talk to her the next day.

Kristen reused to believe that Stefano could be responsible for Belle's kidnapping. She asked Stefano and Peter who both denied any involvement. Kristen let John into Stefano's room so Stefano could tell John he was innocent. John told Stefano he was offering a one million dollar reward for Belle's return. Stefano agreed to match this reward in hopes that Marlena's baby would be returned safely. Despite Stefano's offer, John did not believe he was innocent.

Roman and Marlena waited anxiously for a phone call from the abductor, while Shawn and Caroline tried to offer their support. Lexie arrived home and Abe told her what had happened. She begged Abe to be allowed to help but he pointed out that she was no longer on the police force and could not help. He would not allow her to go through any old kidnapping cases for clues. Sami continued to blame herself for Belle's kidnapping even though Roman and Marlena don't.

Carrie and Austin talked about their relationship and how it ended. Austin asked Carrie if they could try again after the murder investigation with Billie was over. Carrie did not have a chance to reply as Bo and Billie arrived.

Kristen had a dream about her wedding but as she was about to say her vows a baby started crying. She went to see Marlena to offer any support she could. She told Marlena about her dream of Belle. Marlena was touched but John wanted to know what the baby symbolised. Carrie gave Kristen a blue garter for the wedding and wished Kristen the best.

John told Marlena about Stefano matching his 1 million dollar reward and confided to Marlena that he didn't think that Stefano was responsible for the kidnapping. John arranged to have Belle's photo put on the front page of the Spectator and Sami thought this was a bad idea. Marlena tried to calm Sami down but Sami erupted at John and Marlena and left.

The kidnapper gave Belle a bottle. As they picked up Belle, it was revealed that the kidnapper was Sami.

Kristen arrived at the church and was given a necklace by Stefano that had belonged to his mother. He told her to pass it her daughter on her wedding day. Father Kyle asked Kristen if she was sure she had resolved her feelings towards the other man she loved. Kristen assured him that she had. Later, Karen, Sami's friend, stopped by the church to wish Kristen luck. Karen told Kristen that she had given her baby up for adoption. Kristen asked about this and Karen explained that she had made all the arrangements through a lawyer who approached her at the hospital.

Sami discovered that she had run out of Belle's special formula and returned home to get some. She ran into Karen on the way home and asked Karen not to mention their conversation about the adoption lawyer. Karen agreed not to say anything. John asked Marlena about Sami's attitude and Marlena told him about Sami's bulimia but did not tell him that Sami knew of their affair. John asked Marlena and Roman if he could question Sami about the kidnapping. While questioning her, Sami told John to leave her alone and leave the whole family alone. Later Sami asked Roman if he would love her no matter what she did. Roman assured her that he would. Sami was putting bottles of formula in her backpack when Marlena walked in asking what she was doing.

John was standing outside listening to the sound of wedding bells in the distance. At the church, Stefano began to walk Kristen down the aisle.

Kristen made it down the aisle where Tony was waiting but then decided she could not go through with the wedding and ran out. Stefano started to berate her but Tony asked Stefano and Peter to leave. Kristen assured Tony that she still loved him but she could not marry him yet. She was troubled by Belle's kidnapping and wanted to follow through on a lead given to her by Karen. Tony suggested that she give the police the information but Kristen argued that the people on the streets trusted her but not the police. Tony agreed to postpone the wedding. Stefano berated Tony for allowing him to let Kristen leave but Tony told Stefano he wanted their wedding day to be perfect.

Billie noticed that Bo was looking tired because of all the work he was doing on the Curtis case and with Belle's kidnapping. Billie decided to surprise him by cleaning the boat. Bo arrived and almost hit her with a baseball bat thinking she was an intruder. Billie had a bathtub delivered to the boat and gave Bo a bubble bath. She washed his hair and then his back.

Sami hid the bottle behind her back while Marlena talked to her. The walkie-talkie in Sami's bag must have been turned on because Belle started crying. Sami pretended that she didn't hear anything and convinced Marlena there was a stray cat crying outside. Later Sami took Belle to the adoption lawyer in hopes of giving her to another family.

Wendy told John and Marlena that when she was pregnant there were people who approached her to buy her baby. She suggested that perhaps one of these baby sellers had kidnapped Belle. John went to the pier to see if he could find these people and saw Kristen.

John was surprised to see Kristen on the pier and not on her honeymoon. He then saw that she was not wearing a wedding ring. He immediately assumed that she had cancelled the wedding because of him. Kristen explained that she loved Tony and the only reason she had postponed the wedding was because of Belle. She explained that she thought she could get information from the street people who did not trust strangers or the police. John and Kristen decided to continue their investigations independently and share any results.

Bo, still in the bathtub, pulled Billie, fully clothed, in with him. She got out and wrapped herself in a towel while her dress dried. Bo told her that he wanted to make love to her but knew they should wait until she was cleared of the Curtis Brown murder. They heard a noise on deck and Bo discovered the photographer from the tabloid newspaper going through his garbage. Bo told him to leave but he tried to get Bo to give him information about the murder. Bo again told him to leave. Billie was frightened by all the publicity Bo was receiving from the case.

Sami, calling herself Nancy White, saw the adoption lawyer. He asked her some questions and Sami made up a story about being a single mother. He told her that for the adoption to go through he would need the birth certificate. Sami was upset but was determined to get around this obstacle. She went to the hospital where she struck up a conversation with a doctor who was in charge of births. The doctor explained to Sami how the birth certificate information was entered into the computer and sent to City Hall. The certificate was then sent to the parents. Sami entered false details into the computer and was almost caught by John who was following a lead.

Kate, Victor and Lucas were decorating the Christmas tree when Victor's lawyer rang about Vivian. Kate used the time to talk to Lucas about his love life. She warned him that Brandee seemed an ambitious opportunistic girl who would take advantage of him. Lucas assured Kate that he and Brandee were just friends and the only girl he was interested in was Carrie. Kate was happy because she thought that Carrie was a nice girl. She told Lucas that she would arrange for Lucas to be involved with Countess Willhimena so that he could spend more time with Carrie.

Later Victor gave a toast saying that he was going to have the best Christmas ever because he was spending it with his new family. Kate confided in Victor that she felt bad about taking over Billie's company but wasn't changing her mind. Victor told Kate that for Bo's sake he wished Kate would but was not going to interfere.

Wendy was planning a dinner for her and Jonah at her apartment. She invited Carrie to join them and she reluctantly agreed. Moments later Carrie discovered that Austin had also been invited. After dinner Jonah, feeling bad about being expelled from medical school, left for the Cheating Heart. Wendy followed him. At the Heart, Jonah was about to get into a fight but Wendy called Austin to help. After Austin got rid of the antagonist, Wendy invited everyone back to her apartment but Austin refused, saying that Carrie did not want him there. While the others were gone, Carrie was visited by Lucas who told Carrie of their working together. Carrie was not impressed but Lucas told her that he was working in hopes of trying to get Billie her company back. Later Wendy warned Carrie not to trust Lucas and to try and work things out with Austin. Carrie told Wendy that the time she and Austin were together was magic but that was over now. As she said this Austin and Jonah walked in and heard what Carrie had said.

Marlena and Roman were disappointed to hear that John had no further news about Belle. He told them of his idea of following up on single mothers who had given birth in the last few months. Roman suggested that he check out the local adoption agencies to see if there were any leads there. John told Marlena that Kristen had postponed her wedding because of Belle. She asked John whether he thought that was just an excuse but he wasn't sure. He said he was going to fight for her. Marlena and Roman thanked Kristen for her help and Marlena suggested tracking down Karen through the hospital.

Sami returned to the lawyer and told him there was a delay in obtaining the birth certificate. He was upset but continued to make preliminary arrangements. He introduced Sami to a couple, the Robertsons, who questioned Sami about her motives for giving up her child. The couple got into an argument over the name they would give the baby and Sami angrily told the Robertsons and the lawyer that she was giving her baby to a family that didn't fight. The lawyer tried to calm her down but she insisted on finding a good family for her baby. Later Sami saw John giving Marlena a supportive hug at Salem Place which angered her further.

Pat Hamilton told Roman that she was concerned with Bo's handling of the Curtis Brown case. She told Roman that Bo should be putting pressure on Billie to confess. Pat wanted Billie followed 24 hours a day. After she left, Roman and Bo got into an argument over the case. Later Roman saw a copy of the "Intruder" with an intimate photo of Bo and Billie. This caused another fight between the brothers at the pub.

Billie and Carrie were shopping at Salem Place and Billie was excited about the Countess Willhimena products. Carrie told Austin she did not know how to break the news that Kate had taken over the company. At the pub, Carrie and Austin told Billie and she was devastated. Later Austin told Carrie that he was determined to get Brandee to tell Carrie the truth so that Carrie and he could have another chance.

Father Kyle told Shawn and Caroline that there were so many needy families this Christmas and not enough money to buy presents for all the children. Shawn suggested that he and Caroline throw a Christmas party. Billie apologised to Bo for causing problems between him and Roman. Bo noticed they were being watched by the "Intruder" photographer. He took Billie and led her through a door in Salem Place. After a few moments they discovered they were locked in this dark room and did not know where they were. Bo then heard Billie scream.

Sami collected the birth certificate and then took it to Mr. Miller. Karen told Kristen that the lawyer who arranged her baby's adoption was Mr. Miller but he only spoke to married couples.

Kristen then asked John to pose as her husband as Tony was out of town. John agreed to help Kristen and together they went to see Mr. Miller. While they were talking to him, Sami arrived at the office, with Belle, and was going to go in.

Marlena told Roman that she did not want to celebrate Christmas with Belle gone but Roman told her that they had to. He arranged for Marlena to be the lucky customer who got to turn on the Christmas tree lights at Salem Place.

Billie had backed into a reindeer statue and had thought it was a knife. Bo realised that they were locked in Barron's department store. They could not break out as it would set off an alarm. They decided to have a Christmas celebration. They changed into fancy clothes and danced. Bo found some food and they were about to eat when a guard dog appeared and threatened to attack.

Billie fed the guard dog which made it turn friendly. Bo then found a karaoke machine and decided to sing. They sang "Winter Wonderland" together. They then discovered a Christmas tree and decided to decorate it to really get into the spirit.

At the hospital, Tom and Alice read the Christmas story at the children's party, as Kate, Victor, Roman, Marlena and maggie watched. Mickey came as Santa Claus. Kate told Marlena that she was sorry for what Marlena was going through and told her that she knew what it was like to lose a child.

Sami was told by Mr Miller's secretary that he was busy so Sami left, unseen by John and Kristen. She later returned to his office and was not impressed that Mr Miller had found another couple. She told Miller that she did not want a local couple, but rather a couple from outside of Salem.

John and Kristen told Roman and Marlena that they felt they were close to finding Belle. John explained that he had a feeling that the baby they were talking about at Miller's office was Belle.

Shawn and Caroline were organising the Christmas party at the pub with Father Kyle, Mickey, Maggie, Austin and Carrie. Fr Kyle explained that there were not enough toys for all the children. Mickey rang Mr Barron, who owns Barron's department store, and told everyone that Mr Barron had allowed them to fill two boxes of toys. Shawn, Mickey, Austin and Carrie went over to Barron's and while they were collecting toys, Bo and Billie pretended they had just walked in from the street.

Lucas asked Kate for a donation to the party, so that he could impress Carrie but Kate refused. Victor, however agreed to help. Lucas went to Barron's and announced that they could buy as many toys that were needed. Carrie was not impressed by Lucas' actions.

At the party, Kate and Billie argued over Countess Wilhemina. Kate told Billie that she was a loser just like Curtis. Billie asked how Kate knew about Curtis and Kate tried to cover up by saying that she had read about him in the paper. Billie was not convinced.

John and Kristen rang Miller to try and hurry up the proceedings for the adoption. Miller did not tell John about the mother's request that the couple be non-Salemites. He only explained that there would be a delay in the adoption but John insisted that things be hurried along.

Sami reiterated to Miller her desire that the parents be non-Salemites. He tried to convince her otherwise but Sami would not listen. Later John told Sami that the police were close to catching the kidnapper.

Miller lied to Sami saying that he had found an out of town couple to adopt her baby. Later Sami told Caroline that she would not attend midnight mass with the family because she was spending the night with Jamie who was alone because her parents were out of town.

Miller rang John and told him the mother had agreed to the adoption. Sami overheard Shawn telling Bo that the police were watching the adoption lawyer's office and when the mother showed up she would be caught. Sami panicked and asked Mr Miller to move the meeting place to a restaurant out of town. At the restaurant, Sami was anxiously waiting for Miller to appear when John approached her and asked what she was doing there.

Jen and Austin arrived at Pinehaven to take Laura back to Salem. Vivian overheard two nurses saying Laura's doctor had gone to California. Viv had Ivan steal Laura's authorisation from her file. The nurse told Jen that the doctor had not okayed Laura's leave and that she had to stay. Jennifer was heartbroken but Austin had the doctor fax another letter of authorisation.

Kate thanked Bo for agreeing to visit Victor on Christmas day, telling Bo how much Victor would appreciate it. She told Bo of her and Vic's plan to have a child of their own.

Fr Kyle tried to get Billie to agree to sing at mass. Billie told him that she hadn't been to church in years and that she was not a good person. Fr Kyle told her that it is never too late to return and that God accepted and forgave everyone. Billie agreed to sing and did so at the mass.

Sami told John that she was meeting Jamie and her parents for dinner but she thought she had the wrong restaurant. John then told her that he and Kristen were there to meet a lawyer and a girl who possibly had Belle. Sami panicked and returned to University Hospital to ask Jamie, who was working, if she could borrow her credit cards. Jamie gave them to Sami and all of this was witnessed by Stefano. Sami arrived at the airport, hoping to escape Salem with Belle.

Kristen told Stefano how she was frightened that Sami would blow their cover at the restaurant. Stefano then told Kristen about Sami and her desperate need for money. Kristen figured out that Sami was the mother and with John they raced to the airport.

At the mass Marlena told the congregation she was grateful for their support. As Billie sang, John and Kristen came in with Belle and handed her to Marlena.

Stefano was curious to find out why Sami had kidnapped her own sister and questioned Kristen who could offer no explanation. Stefano offered John one million dollars as reward but John refused to accept. Stefano then asked John if he knew the reason for Sami's behaviour but John told Stefano to leave the Brady's alone.
John caught Sami trying to run away. He told her that he had not told Roman and Marlena because he thought it best that she tell them herself. He warned her not to try to runaway as Abe knew the truth and had some police watching the house to prevent her from leaving. He told her that if she did not tell her parents the truth then he would have to. Sami tried to talk to her parents a number of times but couldn't bring herself to tell them she had been the one responsible for Belle's kidnapping.

Kristen offered to help John tell Roman and Marlena the truth. Together they went to Roman and Marlena's and told them that Samantha was the one who kidnapped Belle.

Victor visited Vivian at Pinehaven. He told her that he and Kate were going to New Year's Eve party to celebrate Tom's recovery. He also told Viv of his and Kate's intention to have a child. Vivian is panicking that Laura will react when she sees Kate.

Roman and Marlena would not believe that Sami had kidnapped Belle. They accused John and Kristen of making it up. As they explained how they had caught Sami on a plane heading for Miami, Shawn, Caroline and Carrie arrived. In front of the whole family, Sami admitted that she had been the kidnapper and ran upstairs. The whole family was in shock. Marlena tried to talk to Sami about her reasons but Sami refused to talk.
Bo and Billie had a Christmas celebration on the roof of her apartment building. Bo gave Billie tickets to a basketball game and she gave him a movie of the month subscription. They danced on the roof and she told Bo how much she enjoyed being with him.

Mickey and Pat Hamilton were waiting for Billie and they saw Bo and Billie together. Pat offered Billie a deal whereby Billie could plead guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter. Billie asked Mickey for his advice. He suggested that she consider the offer. Abe warned Bo about spending time with Billie. He then told Bo about the D.A.'s offer. Bo was shocked and was even more shocked when Abe told him that Pat was confident of Billie agreeing to the terms of the agreement. Bo rushed to Billie's apartment to try and stop her.

Roman and Marlena tried to get Sami to explain her reasons for kidnapping Belle. Sami refused to talk. When Roman threatened to read her diary, Sami lied and said that she was jealous of the attention Belle received. She explained that she thought Roman and Marlena loved Belle more. Marlena did not accept this as the full story and suggested there was another reason. Sami denied this but agreed to family counselling sessions.

Sami's therapist, Dr Dorman, tried to get Sami to explain her reasons for kidnapping her sisiter. Sami again gave the jealousy reason. In a group session with Roman and Marlena, Sami apologised to Roman for causing him so much pain. After the session, Marlena told Dr Dorman that she knew of the cause of Sami's bulimia and told him of her affair with John. She told Dorman that she was considering confessing to Roman if it meant helping Sami. Dorman reminded Marlena that this confession would affect John, and she should talk to him first.

Stefano approached Marlena at the hospital and expressed his joy that Belle had been returned safely. He questioned Marlena as to why Sami had done it. Before Marlena could answer, John interrupted and told Stefano to leave her alone. Later as Marlena tried to talk to John, Stefano eavesdropped, becoming more convinced that Marlena had a secret.

John and Kristen were talking at the hospital and were seen by Tony. Tony told Kristen that he realised that John was helping her find Belle but now that she was found, there was no reason to spend so much time with him, especially since he was such a bitter enemy of Stefano's. Later Stefano told Tony that he had heard some rumours about John and Kristen.

Bo and Billie spent New Year's Eve at her apartment. Bo tried to convince her to attend the party at Titan but she would not go. They spent the night dancing and Billie realised how much she enjoyed spending time with Bo. She told him that she had decided not to sign the D.A.'s plea bargain.

Carrie attended the party believing she was meeting Lucas about Countess Willhemina business. She stayed at the party with Lucas much to the annoyance of Austin.
