Carrie's Attack Aftermath
Belle's Paternity Revealed
Billie's Trial Begins
Kate Revealed As Austin & Billie's Mother
Carrie refuses to tell the police about her attack. Austin tells Carrie that he believes Lucas was the attacker. Carrie does not believe this. Later it is revealed that Alan was the attacker. Carrie and Austin return to Salem and overhear Sami telling Caroline about Belle's paternity. Carrie goes to see Marlena and yells at Marlena.
Carrie confides in Sami about the attack. Sami tells Roman and Caroline about Carrie's attack. All the Bradys go to Carrie's apartment to offer support. Caroline invites Marlena but is told to leave by Roman. Marlena and John talk about how they will raise Belle and John sees his daughter for the first time since knowing the truth. Marlena goes to her house to collect Belle's things but does so when Roman is there. Later John tells Marlena he has found her a home to live in. Roman discovers that Marlena forgot Belle's favourite mobile and takes it to her and sees John playing with Belle.
Austin and Carrie have breakfast at the pub where the Brady's are still offering support. Marlena arrives and is again told to leave by Roman. Lucas tells Alan of Carrie's attack. Alan rings Carrie but she does not to see him.
Billie's trial starts and bo tells the judge that he believes Kate Kiriakis is also a suspect. Kate is shocked and Billie confronts Kate asking why she is so scared. The judge decides there is not enough evidence to warrant putting Kate on the stand. Pat Hamilton calls Abe to testify.
Austin tells Bo and Billie about Carrie's attack. Alan visits Carrie to see if she will recognise him as the attacker but she doesn't. At Salem place, Jen sees Austin and Carrie and invites them along with her and Peter. They all go to the Cheatin' Heart - a place Jack never took Jen. Lucas sees Sami at Johnny Angel's and tries to cheer her up. They are joined by Alan who tells Sami she looks like Carrie. Sami is impressed by the attention she is getting from Alan.
Kate's maid buys clothes with Kate's money and goes to the Cheatin' Heart. As she is leaving she is spotted by Billie wearing the seashell shoes. Bo and Billie lose Mary in the fog. They return to the Heart where they recruit Peter and Jennifer to help look for the woman. Billie, Jennifer and Peter all go to a Rave party looking for the woman with the shoes. They do not see her and Peter and Jen leave. Once they are gone, Billie sees Mary and grabs her. Peter and Jen return to Jen's place, where he kisses her once more. Billie calls Bo and he and Abe arrive and take Mary to the police station. Mary calls Victor. Victor and Kate go to the station where Mary tells the police that she bought the shoes from a street vendor. Bo and Billie are both disappointed that the shoe lead did not help.
Pat Hamilton calls Alice to the stand. She makes Alice reveal that the dress scrap belonged to Billie's dress. Bo made Mary confess the truth about the shoes and then convinced the judge to call Kate to the stand. Mickey questioned Kate but she insisted that there was never any connection between her and Curtis. While on the stand, the courtroom door opens and Laura walks in. Laura takes of her glasses and announces that she is Laura Horton. Everyone is shocked. Jen and the Hortons are thrilled that she is alive and no longer catatonic. Kate is devastated. Outside they begin to question her on where she had been and Vivian appears. Laura tells everyone that Viv saved her life and Jen is grateful to Viv. Jen wants to take Laura home but she insists on staying to be with the family. The trial resumes and Mickey again asks kate about her connection to Curtis. Kate denies any connection and Laura stands and announces Kate was Curtis's wife.
At Billie's trial Laura reveals that Kate was once married to Curtis. Kate breaks down and admits that they were married and that she hated him and is glad he's dead. Mickey asks whether she saw Curtis on the night of the murder and Kate says yes, admitting that he was blackmailing her, saying he would tell everyone of her past unless she paid him off. Mickey pressed Kate, feeling that she hadn't told the full story of why she hated him so much. Kate finally said she hated him because he stole her babies from her and she never saw them again. Billie and Austin stare at each other, realising that this means that Kate may be their mother. Curtis stole her babies, not because he loved them but because he knew she loved them.
Billie and Austin can't believe their ears. Neither can Jennifer who is the only other person who knows Curtis was their father. The whole courtroom has heard Kate say she's glad Curtis is dead, so Mickey tries to get Billie off the hook. The judge goes away to think about this and comes back and says he will not dismiss Billie and adjourns the court to the next day to give Pat Hamilton time to prepare for this unexpected turn of events. Billie refuses to believe Kate is their mother, while Bo doesn't understand why Billie isn't more excited by Kate looking so guilty. Roman thinks they need to do more digging into Curtis's past before the court comes back into session. Billie tells Austin she's terrified that it'll come out that Curtis was her father and that he molested her. She's says she'd rather die than have Bo find out. Bo tells Billie he is going to search Curtis's past to discover everything he can about his connection to Kate. Billie worries he will discover everything about her too, because if Bo finds out Curtis molested her, he won't want to be with her anymore. Austin disagrees with her.
Newspaper headlines about Kate come out and Kate worries about the embarrassment she has caused Victor. She offers him out of the marriage but he says no, he'll stand by her. Her lawyer tells her her position could be worse than Billie's. Lucas overhears and yells at him, telling him he'd better get him mum out of this. Kate tells Lucas she's worried she has lost Victor's respect and that he'll regret marrying her. Lucas reminds her Victor knew a lot of the dirt before he married her. She says if she goes to prison for Curtis's murder she'll definitely lose Victor.
Austin wonders if Kate is really their mother. Billie says why should they even care, if she is their mother, she left them with someone who beat up Austin and molested Billie. But Austin believes Curtis could have lied, and Kate could be telling the truth that Curtis made her leave her children. He remembers their mother reading them stories and singing to them. Bo turns up at Titan publishing with a search warrant to search Kate's files. Victor asks Bo not to treat his wife as a common criminal but Bo says he's after the truth. Kate moans that this is all Billie's fault and swears revenge. Austin shows Billie a brooch their mother left behind and she remembers her mother singing to her. At the courthouse Billie sees Kate and tells her she wants to ask her something.
Billie tries to ask Kate about her kids but Kate says Billie's the last person she'd speak to about them. She says Billie knew Curtis, that he was her dealer, and that Kate's humiliation is because of Billie. She calls Billie trash and accuses her of having been Curtis's lover. She tells her it's no wonder her mother left her, that she probably took one look at Billie and knew she'd turn out to be a conniving, drug addicted whore. Billie runs out and tells Austin "That bitch is not our mother".
Jen tells Austin she has been trying to track his mother down for months, and that Peter has files of marriages in Chicago during the time Curtis got married which they're looking through to try to find out whether Kate is really his and Billie's mother. Jen leaves the trial to go to Peter's to look through the files with him. She twists her ankle so obviously he has to carry her up to his room.
Bo gets a phone call with a lead he hopes will give him some information about Curtis and Kate.
Laura asks Alice to point out Kate's son to her, and Alice points Lucas out. Laura stares at him and Alice, seeing her stare, says there's something familiar about him, isn't there? Laura speaks to him and tells him he doesn't look like his mother and he says no, apparently I look like my father.
Carrie overhears Sami telling Jamie about her date with Alan, and how she hopes he'll try to kiss her. Carrie tells Sami Alan is too old for her and she'll get in over her head. Sami tells Carrie she's old enough to do what she wants.
Marlena says she needs to move Belle from Roman's health insurance to hers and that he needs to sign a document renouncing responsibility for Belle. He's sad about how Belle won't even remember him one day but Marlena says he made Belle's first months of life full of love. He remembers special moments with Belle and gets angry, telling Marlena not to come by the pub anymore. Carrie goes to the pub to tell Roman about Sami and Alan but sees his pain and decides not to. Instead she goes to Marlena. Meanwhile Caroline tries to persuade Roman to forgive Marlena. Sami in the meantime is with Alan and as he kisses her on the cheek Marlena arrives to talk to Alan and tells him Sami can't date anyone over 18. Sami says she has no right to tell her anything about what she can and can't do.
Bo arrives at the courthouse and tells Billie he has new information on Kate which should clear Billie. With Kate back on the stand, Mickey reveals that Kate once attacked Curtis with a butcher knife. She says it was only because Curtis had attacked her that night and she only did it to protect her babies. Mickey says that in light of this new evidence he moves that the charges against Billie be dropped and Kate be charged with murder. Lucas stands up and shouts that his mother didn't kill Curtis because he did it, he killed Curtis Brown. Boom boom
