*Just A Note: Dr. Mike Horton doesn't have much if any storyline until mid-1997 when he and Carrie Brady take their trip to L.A. and he falls in love with her there. Until then he mainly just doctors.

Carrie/Austin/Sami/Lucas/Jamie

Sami tells Marlena she'll legally divorce her if she tries to interfere in her life. Marlena tells her therapist how worried about her she is. The therapist tells her of a young man who student services referred to him (Alan) and that this guy, who wouldn't give his name is obsessed with a girl (Carrie) and he's worried about what this guy could do. He asks Marlena is she'll see this young man.

Austin goes to see Kate and she asks him lots of questions about his life. She offers him a weekly column to write for Bella about his and Jenn's show. He's excited but worried that Billie will feel rejected by him. He tells Kate if she really wants to reach out to Billie, give her Countess Willhemina back. She says it's undergone too many changes since she took it over and it would be too much for Billie to manage. He says he feels he can't do it to Billie to join Kate's company because it would upset her too much. Lucas is mad that she made the offer at all and tells her there's not room for both him and Austin in the company.

Austin and Carrie plan their trip to the snow.

Sami gets ready for the frat party that night with Alan. Alan bumps into the therapist (in Salem square where all professional meetings are conducted) who says there's another psychiatrist he wants Alan to see. He goes off to get Marlena but when Alan sees who he's going to get he takes off.

Lucas goes to see Bill to ask him if he knew who his mother might have been seeing when she lived in Salem (he saw Bill's name down as his Mum's doctor after Curtis had beaten her once). Bill says he doesn't know, Lucas leaves and Bill says he can't do this anymore and runs after him.

David Caldwell rings to make another appointment time with Kate because the tape of their last session seems to be blank. She goes ballistic that he taped the session and fires him.

Ivan tells Vivian that he listened to the rest of the tape which she didn't bother to listen to because she thought she'd heard all the juicy stuff. He tells her it reveals all of Kate's secrets. Vivian gives the tape of Kate talking to David Caldwell to Fisher Andrews, a reporter for "The Intruder". Bill tells Laura he can't not tell Lucas he's his father. He says he truly loves her and he doesn't see why they can't all be happy. She decides to believe him. He asks her to go with him to the party that's being thrown to thank Kate and Victor for a large donation to the hospital. She says no but changes her mind after he leaves. At the party Lucas is still asking Kate to tell him who his dad is but she tells him this isn't the time to talk about it. Kate talks to Bill on the balcony asking him not to tell Lucas the truth yet. They get locked on the balcony and while Bill comforts Kate Laura arrives. Vivian steers her to the balcony where she sees Bill and Kate and tells her Bill will never be truthful and that she should spill the beans on him tonight.

At the party to celebrate Billie's freedom, Laura reveals publicly about Bill and Kate's affair and that he's Lucas's father. Fisher Andrews tops it up with the tape of Kate telling David Caldwell that Curtis hadn't divorced her so her marriage to Victor isn't legal. Everyone's angry at Bill, Mickey remembering when Bill took Laura from him, Jenn angry at him, Lucas won't speak to him. Victor tells Kate he's not coming home tonight and leaves while Vivian gloats. Lucas yells at Kate for her and Bill not having told him the truth. Marlena tries to convince Kate to fight to keep her marriage but Kate says it's up to Victor now. Jenn yells at Bill for what he did, saying she always thought he was so perfect and thought of her family that way and it was all a lie. He packs his bag and leaves. Vivian is happy with the newspaper clippings on Kate. She asks Victor out for dinner. Victor tells Kate they need to sort the mess out and then he'll decide about their relationship. Bill leaves Salem

Lucas bangs into Austin's car and it won't start which means he can't drive to the mountains for his and Carrie's night there. Alan offers to help fix it.

Alan fixes Austin's car so it will break down on the way to the lodge. He calls the police because he's also terrified of what he's doing. Marlena is there so she speaks to him to try to talk him out of the rape he says he's going to do. After he hangs up he goes to the frat party with Sami and gets her drunk so she'll pass out and won't remember he wasn't there. He heads up to the mountains. Austin's car breaks down on the way and Carrie is there waiting for him.

Alan goes the the lodge to rape Carrie but Austin manages to hitch a ride and get there so Alan decides it'll have to be Sami instead and goes back to the party where she is semi-conscious.

Carrie and Austin share champagne and make love at Green Mountain Lodge for the first time.

Marlena worries about Carrie and Sami in light of the rapist out there. There is a report of a woman's scream from the frat party so Roman and Abe (the two most senior police at the station) go to check it out. It's nothing but will he see Sami there?

Sami has a bad hangover after the party. Alan comes to see her at school and she tells him she's sure he was away from the party for a long time but he says it was only a short while and she was just too drunk to tell. He says to her that they should do something by themselves like dinner.

Carrie and Austin have made love and are very happy, though concerned about the rapist after Sami rings to say hi and tells Carrie about it.

Jamie's father comes to Billie's lunch and as they leave Jamie turns and looks at Billie and Billie realises that Jamie is being abused by her father.

Carrie and Ausin return from their trip and everyone is happy to see how happy and in love they are (except Alan of course).

Sami and Roman decide to go to a Marx brothers film, something he and Marlena used to always do at the annual festival. Alan turns up there in costume and Sami sees him but then he disappears. Caroline finds out Sami and Roman are there and persuades Marlena that she should go to the festival, not telling her the others are there. Sami goes out to find Alan and Marlena moves down a few rows not realising she's next to Roman. They see each other and realise what Caroline did.

Billie worries that Jamie is being abused by her father and Bo says he'll quietly look into whether any domestic violence complaints have ever been made by the Caldwells.

Carrie and Austin can't bear to be away from each other during the day. Austin asks Kate to let Billie become part of the company. She says she'll think about it after the IVF. Lucas hears Austin tell Carrie about it and says "no way". He asks Kate about it and Kate flippantly says not to worry, as far as she's concerned the company is his. He goes off very smug.

Dr. Mike Horton returns to Salem without Robin and Jeremy and reunites with Jenn and his Mum. *(see note above)

Bo can't find anything on David Caldwell but Billie remains convinced Jamie is being abused. Billie asks about the necklace David Caldwell bought for Jamie because he said she "deserved" it. She asks Jamie if her Mum thinks she deserved it to, sending a clear message to Jamie that she knows what's going on. Billie goes to apologise to David Caldwell, not knowing Jamie is hiding under the desk in his office. He tells Billie he should sue her and to get out and after she goes he moves to touch Jamie and she says "No!".

Austin and Carrie babysit Belle and Brady and tell each other how much they love each other. They come to terms with their new relationship and how it feels "playing house". Austin hints he'd like to do more than just "play" house. Roman goes to see Marlena but when he gets there Carrie tells him she went to New Orleans.

Austin says to Billie that if she wants to start a new company he bets Kate would invest. She tells him where to go. Kate likes Lucas's proposal for Countess Willhemena and says one day the company will be his. He asks her to promise Billie will never work there (after Billie tries to rearrange his display at the mall so it'll look better and sell better) and Kate promises. Billie then bites the bullet and decides to ask Kate for a job so she can achieve her dream from the ground up. Kate is trying to relax for her IVF appointment and knows seeing Billie will stress her so she tells Billie to leave and when Billie keeps trying to talk to her she tells her to get out!

Kate refuses to give Billie a job because of promising Countess Wilhelmina to Lucas. They argue and Lucas comes in and calls Billie a tramp and tells her to leave.

Austin and Carrie do a photo session of themselves at Titan and Carrie goes to take them to get processed and Lucas comes in and is his usual revolting self to Austin.

Billie runs into Jamie at the mall and apologizes for accusing her dad of molesting her last night (if that was last night then this 24 hour period has lasted a week). Jamie says it's o.k. and she's sure her dad will forgive her. Jamie goes and tells her dad and he begins to molest her. Meanwhile Billie decides to see if David Caldwell might still want to back her in a new company and goes over to see him. Billie springs on them as David Caldwell is about to molest Jamie. Jamie runs out and runs into Bo and nearly tells him but doesn't. David Caldwell grabs Billie and says he's going to make sure she doesn't tell anyone.

Maison Blanche/Philip's Conception

Tony and Kristen decide to get away and to visit some of the houses they inherited. She decides to start with Maison Blanche.

Kate decides to undergo Invitro Fertilization in order to give Victor a son. Kate's IVF file is moved to Salem so she can do it all there.

Roman and Marlena meet with their lawyers to split their possessions up. They share happy memories about things they bought together. Mickey tells them they don't really need divorce lawyers they need a marriage counsellor but Roman is determined to go ahead with the divorce.

John asks Marlena to hypnotise him to see if can remember details of where Stefano is hiding. Jenn has tea with Kristen, Tony and Peter are there and they arrange to leave Jenn and Peter alone but she tells him she can't see him anymore. Kristen asks her to think carefully about this as she's never seen Peter care for anyone like this before. Kristen prepares to go away to get away from all the stress. Peter and Tony don't realise she's heading for Maison Blanche.

Marlena sees Kate and Victor at the hospital where the doctor has told them he'll only try the IVF once. She warns Kate if she's so stressed it may not work.

Vivian gives the tape of Kate talking to David Caldwell to Fisher Andrews, a reporter for "The Intruder". Bill tells Laura he can't not tell Lucas he's his father. He says he truly loves her and he doesn't see why they can't all be happy. She decides to believe him. Marlena hypnotises John but he gets upset and she brings him out of it. She suggests a glass of wine to relax him. While he's getting wine Roman arrives to give her a photo he found of her and Belle which he didn't want to get smashed in the boxes. John and Marlena tell him they're trying to find out where Stefano's hiding by hypnotising John. John tells him Stefano rang him the other day and Roman finally believes he's alive so he stays for the hypnosis. John starts remembering a light in a window of a house (Maison Blanche).

At Maison Blanche Stefano sitting in a chair behind his desk facing the wall rather than the desk. He's gloating that soon it'll be just the two of them, him and John, when Kristen walks into the room calling out "Hello, is anybody there?"

Under hypnosis John remembers details of Maison Blanche. Roman thinks he's been there while captive and remembers a nearby sign that said "Tolley Imports/Exports". John tracks the name down to New Orleans and says he's going down there to beat Stefano at his game by turning up early.

At Maison Blanche Kristen is in the room where Stefano is sitting when the housekeeper, Celeste walks in. She switches the light off so Stefano can get out. Celeste tries to discourage Kristen from staying there, but Kristen is determined and Stefano tells Celeste he wants Kristen to stay because he's missed her so much. He says there are plenty of hidden passages for him to hide. He watches Kristen from one.

Kristen tells Tony on the 'phone how she wishes Billie could get her company back. John tells Victor he's going to find Stefano and Victor tells him to be careful, that their friendship means a lot to him. Celeste drugs Kristen so Stefano can sneak out of Maison Blanche. She is urging him to rush because of John but he says it'll be ages before John gets to there. As he speaks John arrives and starts going through the house, finding the jigsaw puzzle. With a gun he goes through the house and into Kristen's room.

Victor goes out with Vivian to the Penthouse Grille. Kate is there getting drunk. Tony asks her if he can buy Countess Willhemena and tells her if her luck changes tonight it'll be because of him so to think about selling the company to him. Billie and Bo go there for dinner too and Kate tries to talk to Billie but Billie says now she knows why Kate hated her so much, she is exactly like the names she called Billie. Then Vivian gloats to her about Victor so Kate pulls her wig off. Tony tells Victor the wounds will heal and doesn't he want a future and a son with Kate. Victor goes to Kate and tells her they'll talk properly tomorrow. Tony sends a bottle of wine anonymously to Bo and Billie and Billie says she feels like someone is watching over her.

Marlena worries about John and Abe makes Roman admit that he is too and wonders why John didn't contact the local police when he arrived in New Orleans.

John finds Kristen drugged and wants to get her to a doctor but he remembers the voice of the woman calling him Johnny and asking for help and he runs around looking for her. He finds the diary Stefano left behind detailing his life. When he goes back to the room to get Kristen Stefano is there waiting for him with a gun.

Victor tells Kate he still hasn't made a decision about their marriage but he'll make it by tonight. Kate goes to Caroline to ask her to speak to Victor on her behalf. Caroline says no but then changes her mind and goes to see Victor. Vivian is there having wangled a dinner with him, though he refused the suggestion of a cruise around the Greek islands.

John wakes up locked in a dungeon. Stefano tells him over a television screen that he's going to train him to be his pawn again. Kristen wakes up and can't believe she's been asleep for 24 hours. Then she finds blood in her room. Celeste pretends she cut herself. Stefano tells Celeste to get her to go back to Salem. Celeste tells Kristen to stay in her room and rest and Kristen wonders why it's so important to Celeste that she doesn't come out of her room. Marlena asks Tony if Stefano is still alive and he says no. Marlena worries about John. And about Laura's fragility. Tony tells Kate to be patient and wait for Victor to come back to her. Vivian prepares for Victor coming to dinner and thinks she can still get him to go away with her to the Greek islands and that he'll propose while they're away. She makes sure Caroline overhears her telling Ivan to prepare for their dinner together. Caroline talks to Victor about how Shawn forgave her and managed to trust her again. She asks him to think of who would really make him happy. He thanks her and tells her she's just helped him make a decision.

Stefano lets John see Kristen in her room on the t.v. She's getting more and more suspicious about why Celeste wants her to stay in her room. Tony and Peter work out that Kristen is at Maison Blanche where Stefano is. He tells them there are secrets in the house which Kristen must never find out.

Stefano gets Tony to come to Maison Blanche to try to get Kristen to go back to Salem. She finds many photos of her past and asks Celeste for the keys to the whole house. Celeste is making excuses for why she can't have them when Tony arrives. Kristen tells Tony she thinks Celeste drugged her.

In the dungeon John finds his name etched into the wall and realises this was where Stefano brainwashed and tortured him. Stefano puts the t.v. screen on which shows Kristen's room and John sees Kristen and Tony making love.

Victor decides to give it a go with Kate but won't marry her until she conceives (then tells her at her appointment that she can't get too stressed or she won't conceive). He breaks the news to Vivian so she starts scheming about what's going on with the IVF.

Victor and Kate have a nice time in bed but she still senses his distance and gives him back her wedding ring. He tells her to keep the engagement ring on and that he just needs to get some trust back in her, not to mention a son from her. Vivian works out that they're doing IVF and starts plotting how she can use this. Victor tells her to move on and find someone else. Vivian gets upset when she gets a letter from Nicky saying he can't come for the visit he'd planned and she feels very alone. After he leaves she tells Ivan there's no way Kate will have Victor's baby.

The doctor tells Kate her blood pressure is too high to induce ovulation today so Victor takes her to the Penthouse Grille for dinner to try to help her relax.

Bo has spoken to David Caldwell about helping Billie start another company but she's more concerned about Jamie. She tells Jamie she knows what she's going through and can help her but Jamie denies her father's abusing her. She gets upset and her parents and Bo come out and Billie accuses him of abusing Jamie and he and Jamie's mother call Billie lots of yucky names and leave. Bo tells Billie that if she doesn't apologise to David Caldwell he doesn't know if he'll be able to forgive her.

Marlena and Roman have dinner together and Roman keeps making sure the conversation stays on the kids. She tells him she's worried about John but Roman is sure Stefano won't let John find him. Roman drops her home and tells her they can't get what they had in the past back. Meanwhile John is still in the dungeon trying to dig his way out when Stefano isn't looking at him on camera. Stefano tells him to take a last look at Kristen because she and Tony are leaving tonight. Kristen actually doesn't want to leave. Tony tells her how he might have got Countess Whillhemena from Kate and Kristen just loves him to pieces!! Then John manages to get out of the dungeon. When Marlena gets home the 'phone rings and John's voice is on the 'phone telling her to get to Maison Blanche as soon as possible. The voice on the 'phone is a tape recording Stefano has put together. He tells Marlena he's sending the private jet to get her so off she goes in the jet Kristen and Tony were supposed to come back to Salem on so Tony is angry at Stefano and Peter, but Peter doesn't know what's going on in this case.

John finds Celeste and ties her to a chair. He finds a map of the island and works out where Stefano is hiding and goes off there, encountering barking mean looking dogs on the way. Meanwhile Stefano 'phones Marlena on the 'plane, using the tape again which has John's voice saying he'll send a car for her when she lands, and letting her hear dogs barking.

John runs around the plantation away from the dog trying to find Stefano. When he finds him he tells him he's going to take him back to Salem to prove to Kristen that he's alive and that everything he ever told her is a lie. Marlena arrives in New Orleans and Celeste goes to pick her up. Marlena is very suspicious of her but agrees to go with her when Celeste tells her John is hurt. She says she just wants to call her family and Celeste's hand moves toward her do stop her somehow. Kristen and Tony leave the island but she's still sure there are secrets there she was meant to discover.

Bo convinces Roman to go see Marlena but when he gets there Carrie tells him she went to New Orleans and of course Roman thinks she's gone there to have fun with John. Celeste puts a handkerchief with chloroform or something like that on it and puts Marlena to sleep. John holds the gun on Stefano and ties him up but then Stefano tells him to look at the t.v. screen and there's Marlena drugged and tied up and Stefano says if John doesn't untie him, Marlena dies so he unties him and Stefano says "Checkmate John!".

Vivian arranges to have an IVF appointment alongside Kate's so she can destroy whatever it is Kate will have done in her appointment but the doctor then rings Kate to change the time. Vivian runs into Victor at the mall and he apologises again for hurting her and hopes she'll meet a man and she smile and says she's sure she will!

Kate goes for her IVF appointment and Vivian walks in.

Stefano visits Marlena in her locked room. She too refuses to eat so he tells her and John they are all going to have a formal evening dinner together and makes them put on evening clothes. John and Marlena hug each other and start to piece their stories together but Stefano says to wait, that everything will be revealed this evening. Meanwhile Marlena hears a noise upstairs and we find out that Stefano has a woman stashed upstairs who has been hiding for a long time. We see her from the back. At the pub Roman hugs Belle and is still convinced Marlena loves John.

Kate is told that ovulation can be induced tonight. She tells Vivian she knows she's up to something but she won't ever get Victor because he's hers. Vivian's still going through the charade with the doctor that she is going to do IVF with Ivan, so that she can later break into the office and muck up Kate's test tubes.

Thanks to the Way Back Machine I am able to bring you Carrie & Austin's story starting from where we last left off in the original time line, March 1994. I will re-post the 1997 blog we just had up when we come to it in the original time line.

This month is a crucial month in the lives of the Brady's as Roman tells Marlena he wants a divorce; the Curtis Reed Murder continues; Kate is well on the way to telling Lucas that Bill is his father; and The Possession storyline begins with John first meeting Gabe The Angel (John doesn't know Gabe is an angel until the end.)

MARCH 7 - APRIL 1, 1994

Roman Tells Marlena He's Filing For Divorce.
Curtis Reed Trial Ends.
John First Meets Gabe The Angel

Roman tells Caroline he never wants to see Marlena again. Marlena tells Alan to leave and tells Sami she can't see him as he's too old. Sami orders her to get out but Marlena stands firm! Then Roman arrives and tells Marlena to leave while Sami looks smug (being the perfect individual she is how can we really expect her to tolerate being in the presence of imperfection?). Marlena refuses to leave. Roman agrees with Marlena that Sami can't see Alan as he's too old and Sami asks Marlena why she has to ruin everything. She rings Alan to tell him she can still see him but he says he doesn't want the hassle.

In the courthouse Lucas tells everyone that he killed Curtis, describing what he did and getting Bo and Carrie to corroborate what he's saying about the speeding ticket and the fact that he was looking for Curtis that night. Bo arrests Lucas.

The judge calls a mistrial, which Mickey explains isn't as good as a dismissal because with a mistrial you can be tried for the crime again. Essentially though Billie is free. On her way out Kate screams at Billie "This is all fault you little tramp!".

Everyone goes back to Carrie and Billie's for a surprise birthday party and a congratulations to Billie party. Bo can't understand why Billie isn't happier to be free. Alan starts talking to Carrie about the attack, saying it's obvious now it must have been Lucas. Carrie gets upset and freaks out when the lights go off for her birthday candles to be blown out. She tells Austin that the only way she's going to get over it is by going back and having their special weekend. Obviously Alan overhears their plans.

John turns up at Marlena's to see Belle. She's upset because Roman hates her and Sami despises her. Roman goes to wish happy birthday to Carrie and tells Sami to stop going on about Marlena, that they have to put the past behind them. She tries to get Alan back and they dance.

Abe and Roman question Lucas. Lucas tells his story of what happened the night of Curtis's death. They suggest they don't believe him and Lucas can't believe that after the weeks of being hassled by Bo, now they won't believe him. Victor won't let him sign a confession but Lucas says he'll sign it.

Everyone heads to Alice's party, but no-one knows why she's throwing it. Billie nearly doesn't go because she's worried that if Lucas retracts his statement she'll be back on trial, but Roman brings round the signed confession and says she's off the hook!

Kate doesn't go to the party because she's so upset about Lucas she had to be sedated. Marlena and John turn up at the same time so of course it looks like they arrived together which upsets Roman, Sami and Carrie.

Alice tells everyone the party is a celebration of faith to help lift everyone's spirits. The speech makes Carrie decide she definitely wants to go back to the ski lodge to have her weekend with Austin. Sami's mad at Carrie for telling Marlena about Alan and tells Carrie to stay out of her life. Carrie worries about what trouble Sami could get into.

Billie wants to leave the party because reporters keep showing up to take photos of her and Bo together. Billie waits for Bo to go and get his motorcycle and sees Curtis standing them - well, it's more flashes of Curtis not really him standing there in the flesh.

Laura thanks Austin for donating bone marrow to Abbie and he thanks her for helping get Billie off the hook. He asks her if she remembers what gender kids Kate had but she can't remember.

Roman makes a speech about Mom and Pop and loving couples trusting each other and lots of other things that make Marlena feel even more guilty and sad. Then Alice proposes a toast to Tony and Kristen's new marriage. Marlena wonders if Roman is thinking of them and goes to talk to him but he walks off and she goes off crying. She goes to talk to Sami to ask her to put her bitterness aside but Sami remains solid in her self-righteous self. She arranges to meet Alan after the party and makes Jamie say she'll be staying at her place.

The hallucination of Curtis tells Billie just because Lucas signed the confession it's not over yet. He tells her the answer to the murder is in Billie's head. She screams, he disappears, Bo comes and takes her back to the boat and he reminds her the murder charges are behind her. She can't remember how they got to the boat. He says she asked him to take her home and he instinctively brought her back to the boat. He gives her a necklace with her birthstone and that if she's afraid to touch it and she'll know he's there for her. Billie and Bo start to make love but things he says remind her of Curtis. She stops but then they keep going but then she thinks of Curtis again and screams "no".

Marlena persuades Roman they need to work together to help Sami. He agrees and says he'll think about what to do and walks off. Bill and Laura reunite and in her head she blames him for her catatonia - she blames him and Kate.

Carrie worries about Sami heading for trouble. Sami's out with Alan and says to Jamie on the 'phone she will prove she can look after herself. She suggests to Alan they go somewhere a little quieter. Then she kisses him. Alan says he thinks they should take it slow and that he feels protective over her because he knows how much Carrie worries about her. Sami wonders how their conversations always come back round to Carrie and tells him she thinks he's more interested in Carrie than in her. Alan says they're just friends. He says to Sami there could be an 'us' and kisses her. He invites her back to his place and while she's getting her coat he says "Maybe I can't have you, Carrie, but I can have your sister". Back at the party Carrie shivers.

Laura and Bill dance while Alice and Jen watch happily. Alice notices Laura looks tense but Jen thinks she's just overwhelmed. Bill tells Laura how natural it feels. He says he remembers they had problems before, but that he waited years for her to come back and he knew that they'd be together sometime. She says she has to sit down.

Roman tells Marlena he 'phoned Jamie and Sami's fine and studying. He says maybe they could put into an agreement the finances and things with the kids. He tells her he's filing for divorce.

John goes to the park and sits on a park bench and disturbs a man sleeping there who says his name is Gabriel, or Gabe. They talk and John tells him how his life derailed and there are things about himself he doesn't know. Gabe wonders if he could help and maybe their meeting wasn't accidental. John says he senses his life's about to change. Gabe says he's right, and there may be trouble but not to worry, John, he won't be alone. John asks how he knows his name and turns around but Gabe has gone.

Laura goes to see Kate. Marlena waits in the rain for someone to come and fix her car. No-one comes then Roman arrives and says 'get in'. He leaves then comes back with her purse. Roman takes Marlena home from the party. He comes in and tells her he won't cite adultery as the reason for the divorce because of the publicity, that he'll cite irreconcilable differences. She's in her nightie and rushes off as Belle is crying. Roman comes in. Marlena dumps Belle in his arms while she goes off to get a bottle. She says Roman can still be a part of Belle's life just like she has been a part of Carrie's life. The 'phone goes and John leaves a message saying he'll be right over. So Roman leaves saying he's an intruder, it's John who has the right to be at Marlena's in the middle of the night, not him. When John arrives Marlena's in tears. She tells him what happened and he feels bad. He says he came over to talk about a lead on Stefano but they can do it another time. He leaves.

Billie can't make love to Bo because of the memories of Curtis. She feels she's remembering more of the night of the murder that's important to the case. She knows that Lucas' confession isn't for real. She says she can't let it go till she knows what it is. Bo says he still has questions about the night of the murder, like why she went to a drug dealer for heroin, but that he trusts what she's told him and is willing to let it go, so why can't she? She says she can't stay the night, she doesn't feel good and better go home.

Jen tells Bill about the court case and Laura telling everyone about Kate. Bill can't believe it's THE Kate. Bill realises all the details about Kate that Laura must know, which he never realized she knew. He and Jen talk about Jack and Bill tells her not to close her heart against love.

At Kate's place Laura confronts Kate with all the gory details - that Kate slept with Bill and had Lucas by him. Kate says Lucas doesn't know about Bill being his father and that she never wanted Laura to know. Laura tells Kate she'll make her pay. Kate says if she reveals the details of Bill's past it'll hurt Jen so Laura agrees to keep quiet. But she says she'll see Kate pay when Lucas goes to jail for life, and she'll make sure Bill pays too. Laura goes home and makes a snide comment about how Bill always does what he wants. Bill says we need to talk, Laura says not tonight I'm tired. She goes to bed but not before he kisses her goodnight and she looks MOST uncomfortable.

Vivian is annoyed that Laura isn't going to spill Kate's secrets. Bill wants to pick up where they left off - Laura asks "Back to what I had or back to what you had?" She confronts him about Kate. He asks for a chance to make her happy in the future. She says they must put their differences aside for the sake of the family and that she doesn't want him to have anything to do with Kate or Lucas. He says fine, he has no interest in Kate but what does Lucas matter? Laura says "Because he's your son".

Billie is still sure Lucas didn't kill Curtis. Bo goes to see him but he won't retract, and Kate can't make him either. On the stand he swears to having killed Curtis. The judge starts to sentence him when Billie begins to remember what happened that night. She goes on the stand. She tells how she was drugged by Curtis and when she came to he was arguing with Kate about something she was supposed to take care of. Then Kate left and Curtis was still alive and was saying he'd kill Kate if he didn't get what he wanted from her. Then Lucas was there and looking for Curtis saying he'd making him pay but Curtis was hiding so Lucas left saying he'd come back the next day with the cops. Then Curtis came out and was saying how he'd make Lucas pay. Then she blacked out and came to in the alley and saw Kate all bruised and pulling a gun out of her bag and was going toward the basement door. Then Kate saw something and screamed, and Billie saw Curtis lying on the ground dead. Everyone goes ooh ahh and Lucas says oh my goodness Moooom, you didn't kill him - I confessed because I thought you did. Victor wonders what Kate and Curtis were arguing about. The judge dismisses the charges against Lucas and the Kiriakis family leave happy.

Bo kind of wishes Billie hadn't said what she did because it lets Kate and Lucas off the hook and Billie can be tried again. The D.A.'s office decide to put her on trial again.

Lucas tells Kate that he promised himself that once he was free he'd find his father. Kate says she promised she'd never tell and he's done fine without him for 18 years. She begs him to leave it alone. He says o.k. but we know Lucas better than that. Victor and Kate toast to their future and their future child.

Ivan can't get Billie's testimony out of his head and they wonder what Kate reacted at during Billie's testimony.

Bo and Austin are with Billie and Bo admits that he now has another suspects in the murder case.Bo brings Marlena over to Billie's to convince her to do hypnosis to remember the rest of the night Curtis died but she says NO WAY. She doesn't want all the rest of her secrets coming out too. Bo's angry she'd throw away their life together like this and goes out to get some air. Billie goes to Bo and he's sad he couldn't save her. They hug and look at the stars. He says how in the Southern hemisphere they have different stars. She says she can't stand the thought of a future without him and decides to take a chance and have hypnosis.

Alan says Sami will have to get a fake I.D. so he can take her to frat parties. Carrie sees them together in the park and goes bananas because Roman has forbidden them to see each other. Alan says they're only talking and Sami runs off to see Jamie. Alan says to Carrie they should talk about the situation with Sami and they go off to have hot chocolate together. Jamie reluctantly says she'll help her get a fake I.D. Alan asks how serious things are between Carrie and Austin. She tells him how they're going to go back to the mountains to face her fears. She has a flash of memory of the night of the attack, but Austin turns up. Alan goes but keeps watching her and Austin.

Multi-skilled lawyer Mickey organizes Roman and Marlena's divorce in his spare time from the murder trial. Roman's angry Marlena hasn't organized a lawyer yet and goes to confront her. She starts crying and says she doesn't want the divorce. He calms down a bit. He says he's sorry he made her cry, but they've got to resolve this once and for all. She calls an attorney. He leaves with many sorrowful looks.

Laura begs Bill not to reveal that he's Lucas's father because Jen is so happy to have her family back together. He says he won't.

Lucas wants to know who his father is but Kate tells him to leave it alone. He goes off to look through her files of course her assistant just lets him go through them all and finds a letter with the address of Copper Lantern Drive on it (Jen's address). He speeds off to her place where she, Laura and Bill are. He leaves a pen in the file room so the assistant brings it back, telling Kate what happened.

Billie goes under hypnosis on the stand and reveals she had known Curtis for a long time. She won't say any more as she gets too upset so Marlena un-hypnotizes her. Pat Hamilton badgers Billie about how she knew Curtis and Billie snaps and says Curtis was her father.

Lucas asks Bill about the house and who lived in it and tells him he's looking for his dad. Bill doesn't tell Lucas he's his dad. Kate arrives and hauls Lucas off and Laura warns them not to tell him or she'll tell everyone what they did to her.

On the stand Billie gives in and reveals the whole story - that Curtis was her father, that he molested her and that she was in porno movies to keep her drug habit going, drugs being the only escape from pain. Pat Hamilton sees the opportunity to pin a motive on her. Marlena tries to contact Kate, having realised the possible connection between Kate, Billie and Austin but Kate's off running after Lucas.

Pat Hamilton tries to get Billie to remember what happened on the night of the murder. She remembers voices arguing and someone saying Curtis would pay and deserved to die. She remembers someone saying "Checkmate" and a gun going off but she can't remember anyone else being there so she says "It must have been me - I must have murdered him".

Billie awakes in jail. Bo has been told he may not see her as Pat Hamilton feels he's prejudicing the investigations. Billie is sure he doesn't want to see her anyway. In the courtroom prior to sentencing she asks the judge to believe that Bo, Austin and Carrie didn't know she'd murdered Curtis.

Meanwhile Carrie goes to see Marlena to see if she can help Billie. John planted a bug at Kristen's place when he was there yesterday and he overhears Peter call Stefano saying "Things are going on in the courthouse which affect us Stefano". He tape records it and takes it to Roman. Marlena also goes to see Roman and says that saying "Checkmate" isn't language Billie would use and comes up with some neat psychological explanation of how Billie believes she murdered Curtis so has taken on the persona of the murderer and thinks she said "Checkmate". And Bo also arrives to say it must have been Stefano who murdered Curtis because only he would say "Checkmate". John and Bo go off to find Fred Harris to check out the story but Peter gets to Fred first and he's gone by the time John and Bo get there.

Kate goes off to the infertility clinic and Marlena tries to reach her through the day to tell her what's gone down in the courtroom but she can't get hold of her.

Marlena tries a last ditch effort to ask Roman if they one day might get back together. He says everyone keeps going on about forgiveness but that's not what it's about for him. He says that one day he may be able to forgive her and even understand why she did what she did, but he'll never be able to trust her again. He walks out.

Kate and Victor go to a fertility specialist. She's told the tests show she can't conceive the usual way as her fallopian tubes have been scarred from Lucas's birth but that they can try IVF. They're happy about this. She goes off to talk to Mr Caldwell to find out whether she and Victor are legally married. Vivian is hanging around posing as a frenchwoman to try to eavesdrop. All she finds out is that the lawyer keeps tapes of each session so she plans to steal the one of Kate's session. Kate wasn't legally divorced as Curtis never sent the divorce papers in and that's what they were arguing about the night of the murder.

Victor meanwhile goes home and sees the newspaper and realizes about Billie and Austin being her kids. When she comes home he tells her he thinks her kids are alive and he thinks he knows where they are. Victor tells Kate about Billie and Austin. Kate refuses to believe they're her kids, Lucas refuses to believe they're her kids, Billie refuses to believe they're her kids, Austin isn't so sure they're her kids. Everyone else thinks they're her kids.

Jen and Peter make eyes at each other while she continues to look for information about Kate and Curtis's marriage. Jenn finds a document which proves Kate must be Austin's mother.

Marlena says Bo still loves Billie, Mickey says Bo still loves Billie, Austin says Bo still loves Billie, Carrie says Bo still loves Billie. Based on this information Billie is convinced Bo doesn't love her anymore.

She gives it to him and he goes to her place and she opens the door and he says "Mother". Carrie goes to Kate with the pin that Austin gave her which belonged to his mother. She leaves it with her, telling her only to go to Austin and Billie if she's prepared to be a mother to them because they have been hurt enough.

Billie is in jail remembering Curtis abusing her. Marlena goes to see her and suggests her mother might not have intentionally abandoned them but Billie said she needed a mother then, not now.

Kate won't believe Austin until he remembers her singing "Mockingbird" to him. She checks his and Billie's birthdates and realizes they are her kids. She and Austin hug and cry. He asks her to go and see Billie but she doesn't think it's such a good idea because Billie hates her. Austin tells her Billie needs her and Kate goes to see Billie in jail.

John catches Abe up on where things are at with Stefano. Jenn asks Peter out on a date. Kristen decides to do up their house to look just like an old Southern house which was very famous but mysteriously disappeared through fire or the owner moving it. The house in the picture looks just like the picture she found of Maison Blanche. She tells Jenn but asks her not to tell Peter or Tony because it's going to be a surprise. Billie tells Kate to get out and won't believe she's their mother. Austin convinces her it's true and she says she does actually have something to say to her mother and tells her "I hate your guts". Kate tells her the story of how she looked for them and thought they were dead. Billie tells her that Curtis raped her and tells her it's all her fault. Kate asks Austin to leave and then Billie tells details of the molestation and being fed drugs and dropping out of school because of the humiliation. She tells her "It's your fault - Mother".

Alan tries to get Lucas to plot with him how to break up Austin and Carrie. Carrie comes along and her and Lucas have an argument about whether Austin and Billie are Kate's kids, Lucas still insisting they're just after Kate's money.

Billie won't accept Kate's reasons for thinking they were dead. Austin reminds her she also believed Curtis' lies when he came to town and asks her not to let him win by hating Kate. Billie says he's already won because Bo has left her. For the millionth time Austin tells her Bo is not allowed to see her and is off trying to clear her.

Kate leaves the jail upset and has a car accident, nearly hitting Bill who's on his way home. They talk, remembering their past together, and about Lucas. Kate says there's enough going on for Lucas and that maybe sometime in the future they can tell him he's Bill's son, but not now.

Billie tells Austin she never wants to see Kate again, and that Bo doesn't love her anymore.

Bo saves John after Peter's guard at the warehouse knocks him out. They put together a tape from when Stefano was questioned about Curtis's murder and trick Fred over the 'phone into thinking he's talking to Stefano. Fred says he won't tell about the night of the murder but doesn't give away the details of what happened. The voice tells him he can take off and go where he wants so Fred runs out of the warehouse and John and Bo grab him and take him to the police station.

Lucas refuses to believe Austin and Billie are Kate's kids, he and Austin yell at each other, Kate tries to make them be friends, they yell at each other.

The judge allows Kristen, Jenn, Carrie and Kate to give character references about Billie to the court. He then says he has to uphold the law and not be swayed by emotional testimony.

Bo and John keep working on Fred. Bo finally comes into the courtroom and persuades the judge to let him put Billie on the stand again.

Laura tells Bill everything she remembers, how she followed him to Kate's and saw them making love. He says that it only happened because she'd started to drift away from him and that the night she remembers was the night he broke it off with Kate. She says she confronted Kate the next day and Kate said she was pregnant and after that she lost touch with reality more and more. Bill goes out and Vivian comes in, having heard enough to work out Bill and Kate had an affair, but no more.

Sami shows Alan her fake I.D. Marlena tries to talk to Sami but has no luck. Lucas swears revenge on Austin, with Alan prodding him along.

On the stand Bo presses Billie to remember the night of the murder, reminding her about hearing "Checkmate". Finally she remembers it was Stefano who said it, that he was threatening Curtis because Curtis had been blackmailing Kristen. Stefano told him to get out of town, they struggled and a gun went off, killing Curtis by accident. Bo brings Fred in who corroborates the story while Tony and Kristen listen in horror.

The judge drops all charges against Billie. She is happy but still wondering whether Bo wants her anymore, and in fact what all her friends think of her. Carrie decides to throw a surprise party to reassure her so she gets Austin to take Billie home the long way. On the way out he tells Kate to give Billie some space and some time.

During all of this Sami has been shopping for a dress for her date with Alan while Jamie tells her she's dressing too old for her age. She bumps into Marlena but won't speak to her. At Carrie's Sami is surprised to hear Carrie on the 'phone inviting Alan to the surprise party and Alan obviously accepting, when he's supposed to being going on a date with her. When he gets there he tells her he only said yes so it wouldn't look suspicious.

Vivian seduces Mr Caldwell and takes him out to dinner so Ivan can find the tape of Kate's session with him. She bumps into Kate and Victor at dinner but manages to not let them see who she's there with. Kate asks Victor if he's sure he still loves her and wants to be with her after the embarrassment she's caused and he says yes.
