Carrie and Lucas head on round to Roman and Marlena's and tell them that Carrie has changed her mind - she's going to try the surgery. They tell her that they will pay for the surgery as she doesn't have any insurance. They all have lunch later - Roman cooks pasta, but Sami binges on a big bowl upstairs and then throws it up. Marlena is waiting on news from the hospital but there is none yet. She calls John and tells him and Sami overhears the phone call. She tells Marlena she is going to the hospital and Marlena says that maybe she'll see her there later on.
Rebecca arrives and suggests they do something. John says that actually the sitter will be there soon, he has some personal business to take care of - some shopping. Rebecca invites herself along with him and they run into Marlena and Carrie who have been shopping for maternity wear at the mall. Marlena says she's just about to call the hospital and Rebecca says that they have to get back to work anyway. John demurs and says they have some time, why don't they sit down and have a coffee. They head off to Johnny Angels while Marlena calls the hematology lab. Frank tells her the results are in yet and when she asks about her personal code, he tells her what he's been using, of course, Sami is conveniently at the lab to hear this exchange. She asks Frank if he can give her a lesson on haematology and he gives her a text book. She takes it away and finds out John and Roman's blood types, and then works out that if the baby has type O blood both J&M are type O so then the baby is John's. However Roman is AB so if the baby is either A or B, then it's Roman's. Back at the mall, Carrie decides to Sit with John and Rebecca so Marlena sits with them. At the hospital, Sami heads back down to the lab when she sees Frank leave. In the lounge a nurse tells Frank that the bloodwork results have just been entered into the computer. In the lab Sami is checking it out.
Marlena calls the hospital and Frank tells her the blood results for the baby came up fine. She is relieved and she calls John and tells him she's going to the hospital to get the results of the blood analysis. He says he'll meet her there.
At the hospital, Sami heads for the lounge and writes in her diary. She doesn't hate her Mom but she hates what she did to her Dad. She always thought she could trust her - that she would never do anything to hurt any of them, but she did. Anyway, she says to herself, she'll know the truth now, and it's all over. It's finally over.
John finds Marlena at the chapel and she tells him that she knows that he had hope for the two of them, but she's not sure there was ever any hope. Even if this was his baby - John interrupts him and asks if she is trying to tell him this isn't his baby. She nods her head and says it's not, it's Romans. John tells her he's happy for she and Roman.Sami is interning at Titan, working with Kate's secretary. Sami lets Kristen walk in to see Victor. She wants to thank him for the van donation and give him a sweatshirt from the Horton Centre. He invites her to stay for the meeting and suggests that they do an article on the centre in the magazine. Marlena invites Sami to come shopping with her tomorrow but Sami refuses. Kate's secretary wings into Sami for letting Kristen walk into the meeting and Sami pigs out on pastries and then runs to the restroom to be sick.
Lucas takes Carrie to the Penthouse Grille for drinks and dancing since she can't eat because she's having surgery tomorrow. He shows her a letter that (supposedly) comes from a girl who was scarred in a car accident and who was inspired by Carrie. He suggests that Carrie could write back to this girl and all the girls like her in Bella and express her feelings. Carrie ends up by agreeing to co-operate with Kate.
Carrie has her surgery and it goes well. Sami gets Austin to give her piano lessons and then tells him about Carrie's surgery. He heads down to the hospital, but finds Lucas in the room with Carrie.
Jenn goes up to the roof again and Austin follows her. They talk about Carly for a while and decide that they'll do a show showing the good side of her. Austin mentions that it's his birthday and says he'd better go as he's supposed to be meeting Billie for dinner. But the door is stuck and they can't get it open, so Jenn rummages around in her handbag and sticks a candle in a snickers bar and lights it. Austin blows out the candle, making a wish that Carrie's operation will work and then he breaks the bar in two.
Bo stops off at the Heart where Austin and Jonah are playing pool. He has a few scotch's and then has a few swings at a guy before taking off on his bike again. Billie heads down to the Brady pub and Austin meets up with her there. She frets about Bo and he worries about her falling for Bo.
Lucas heads over to Carrie's to feed her up on chicken soup. He calls Kate and she turns up just after Billie. She offers to invest money in Billie's company but Billie turns her down. Sami turns up with Austin, but his presence upsets Carrie. Lucas tells Austin that he doesn't want to see him near Carrie again.
Lucas takes Carrie home and tries to kiss her. Carrie pulls away and says she can't. Lucas deduces that it's because she's still hung up on Austin and walks out. Carrie runs into Austin in the hall and drops her laundry. Austin asks what's wrong and Carrie tells him that everything is and she would give anything for him to hold her the way he used to. He takes her in his arms and does just that.
Carrie decides that whatever happens with the scar, nothing will change - she and Austin are still over.
Sami and Carrie help Kate set up a surprise party for Lucas, and what's more - he's actually surprised. Jamie tells Sami that the blood tests are retaken once the baby is born.
Lucas' 18th birthday party - Kate gives him the keys to the BMW and he and Carrie go for a spin, but get lost. Meanwhile Sami is busy stuffing her face with food and Jamie realizes that she's thrown it up.
Roman is going away to Washington and Marlena plans a nice night home together. Sami runs in, says she can't stop and she's not hungry, grabs her volunteers uniform and heads for the hospital. Marlena tells Roman that Sami has been distant lately and she doesn't know why. They happen to be looking at the shopping list and discover that Sami has been ordering lots of junk food. Marlena assumes that it's for when friends come around so she will have food to offer them. At the hospital,
Jamie finds Sami stuffing her face with donuts and accuses her of being bulimic. Sami says that she can stop it any time she wants. Jamie tells Sami that her sister Heather was bulimic and it almost killed her. She encourages Sami to talk to Marlena. Sami says she'll deal with her own problems. Roman comes in just them and asks what problems. Sami says just scheduling stuff and Roman tells her that he's going away and then asks her to try and make an effort with her mother. Sami promises that she'll try.
They head home and Marlena suggests that Sami and Roman spend some father/daughter time together, playing 'basketball'. Sami suggests Marlena keep score, which makes Marlena really happy. Marlena and Sami end up playing against Roman who lets them win.
Roman goes out to get some iced tea and Marlena thanks Sami for spending some time with her and they hug. However, later Sami is writing in her diary and says that she can never forgive John and Marlena and she doesn't know how she'll get through this. She heads over to her drawers and pulls out a donut and starts eating.
Carrie comes over to Marlena's to help her get breakfast for her and Sami. Carrie leaves and thinks maybe there is something she can do for Marlena and Sami. Sami comes down and says she'll stay for breakfast but then reverses and says she has to go out. She heads upstairs and Marlena is upset, but then Carrie and Caroline arrive for a makeover day and persuade Sami to stay. They do the makeover/spa thing, Caroline and Marlena tell Sami about how when she was a colicky baby Marlena would drive her around in the car, talking to her of her dreams for her future. Sami says that she hopes she hasn't let her down too much. Marlena tells Sami that she could never let her down. Jamie arrives and they invite her to stay. Sami goes across with Jamie to get her own make-up and Marlena tells Carrie and Caroline that she doesn't think this is standard teenage behaviour. Caroline advises Marlena to trust Sami and maybe Sami will trust her. Outside, Jamie is trying to talk Sami into not being so hostile towards Marlena. They do the makeovers and decide to go out to lunch. Carrie and Caroline are planning something in the meantime.
Carrie and Caroline take Sami and Marlena to Alice's suggesting that they ask Alice to go with them. Marlena is not sure but knocks on the door. Alice calls out that it's open and they go inside. Marlena is surprised to find that they are holding a baby shower for her. Later on Sami does the binge and purge thing again and Jamie threatens to tell Marlena.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carly confronts Vivian and works out that she's been killing her patients. She can't work out how Viv is walking and keeps muttering that she should be paralyzed. Vivian says a will and the herbs helped. She tells Carly about her original plan to frame her for her death and says that she doesn't mind going to hell as long as she can take Carly with her. The phone rings but Vivian, holding the syringe won't let Carly answer it. They have a struggle and Vivian drops the syringe as Carly manages to incapacitate her (or so she thinks). She turns her back on Vivian (big mistake) to check on Caroline and call security and Vivian comes at her with the syringe. Carly struggles but Vivian stabs her in the arm with it and Carly sinks to the floor as she loses consciousness. Viv hightails it back to her room and Ivan helps her get into bed.
Alice finds Carly in Caroline's room and calls Bo (who is with Roman at the Cheatin' Heart). They rush to the hospital to find that Carly is being taken to ICU - there was morphine in that there syringe. Ivan overhears the conversation and Vivian works out that the syringe with the morphine must have fallen out of her pocket in the struggle and that was the one she stabbed Carly with. The security men find the other syringe on the floor and Tom, Roman and Bo are even more astounded to find out that it contained cleaning fluid. Vivian realizes that she may just have found a way to frame Carly for the deaths. As long as the good doctor never wakes up again.
At the hospital, things are beginning to look more and more like they are suspecting Carly of killing her patients. They give her something to counteract the morphine and hope it works. Bo decides he will find something to prove Carly's innocence and heads off to find her diary - the diary that Vivian has just forged an entry in. Bo is shocked when he reads that Carly thinks Caroline might die a painful death and she can't let her suffer like that.
Billie comes across Bo in the lounge. He's holding onto Carly's diary and is confused. He tells Billie that Carly would never try to kill anyone, let alone his mother. Billie doesn't want to say it but tells him how upset Carly was when Caroline suggested they delay the wedding plans. Bo goes to see Caroline who confirms it. Mickey tells Bo that Mrs. Levin's lawyer has permission from the DA to exhume Woodrow's body and do an autopsy. Bo ends up handing the diary over to Mickey as Mickey comes back with the results of the autopsy. They found the same chemical in his body as in the syringe in Caroline's room. Mickey says this changes everything - now they're talking about murder. Bo gets this wide-eyes totally gormless look on his face as he comprehends what Mickey is saying.
Vivian works out how to silence Carly permanently. She gets Ivan to get another syringe full of morphine and orders him to contact Mr. Wu. Dressing up as a nurse, she goes down to Carly's room, but finds Lawrence inside, distraught and telling her he loves her. He gets up and walks away and from the door, Vivian sees Carly's fingers move.
Ivan tells Lawrence there's a call for him and it's urgent and Vivian injects the morphine into Carly's IV. She gets back to bed and says it's all running wonderfully. Outside the room, Bo and Lawrence are arguing, but Lawrence opens the door and Bo sees Vivian's head flop back down.
Lexie turns up at the hospital and tells Bo they have to do a cursory search of the house. Of course they do and find the cleaning fluid that Vivian had planted there (and Carly had picked up only days before). Bo heads back to the hospital and goes to see Carly, telling her she has to wake so she can explain this (sounds like he's starting to doubt her). But then the monitor blips and flatlines and Bo starts screaming for a nurse.
Lawrence tells Nikki the bad news about his mother and the kid doesn't take it well. He heads down to the funeral home where he tells Katerina he will always love her. Then he goes back to the house and falls on his knees in misery. John hears about Carly's death on the radio and goes down to the pub. He realizes that Bo is probably at Green Oaks and heads out there. He talks to Bo for a while and calms him down. Bo is still devastated. Victor hears and goes down to the pub but Shawn tells him the Brady's take care of their own. Mickey goes to visit Lawrence to arrange Carly's burial. Vivian, having discharged herself from the hospital arrives home to help Nikki through this devastating time. She tells Lawrence that it was Carly's wish to be buried under a shady tree and she didn't want to be embalmed. Lawrence heads down to the funeral home where Carly is busy talking to herself inside her head but nobody can hear her. Lawrence tells her how much he loves her and then leaves as Carly is saying I'm alive in her own little nightmare world.
Jenn and Jack go to the funeral home to see Carly. She is trying to tell them she's alive but they leave, Jenn crying. They go back to the house but while Jenn is upstairs, Kate turns up and tells Jack to meet her at the airport in half an hour, they have to go to Chicago for an important Spectator meeting. She leaves and Jack follows her to Titan. He tells her he can't go as he has to be there for Jenn who is burying her best friend today. Kate tells him she needs him too, in fact she close to throws a temper tantrum and threatens Jack with selling the paper to Victor unless he comes. Jack goes home and tells Jenn he has to go to Chicago if he wants to keep his job. Jenn can't believe he is going. Meanwhile Billie turns up at Kate's office and eventually accepts her offer. Bo isn't back and the funeral is having to take place today because Carly's body is not being embalmed. The Brady's try to talk Lawrence out of having the funeral before Bo gets back but Lawrence says it's out of his hands. They all head down the hospital as the service is being held in the chapel. Vivian and Ivan head to the funeral home to dress Carly. Ivan is balking big time, he thinks what Viv is doing is monstrous but Viv tells him if she goes down, then so does he and she has money and ways to get out of the country. They dress Carly and do her makeup and then Lawrence arrives to take Carly to the hospital for the service.
It's the day of Carly's funeral and she's in an open casket at the hospital chapel. Austin turns up at Jenn's to see how she's doing and she tells him Jack has gone off. Austin says he'll come with her. Lexie is clearing out Carly's locker and finds a ripped black sweatshirt in a rubbish bin in the locker room. She realizes it could belong to the Pacifier and that he might work at the hospital. At the chapel the service begins, people get up and talk about Carly. Jenn, Marlena, John and Shawn. People go up and say their last goodbyes and Bo arrives. He goes up to put his jade ring on her finger but gets a shock when he realizes she's still warm. Although no-one seems to have an explanation for it or even want to check if he's right they get him to sit back down. He sits in a back pew and continues to look as if he has a bowel obstruction. Vivian gets up to say something and then whispers to Carly that shortly they are going to bury her alive. The whole time Carly is screaming out that she's alive. Eventually, the service ends and everyone leaves for the cemetery.
Carly's burial. Lawrence stands up and talks about her. When he's finished, everyone is about to leave and Bo says he needs to see her one last time. Viv is freaking out because Carly is due to wake up and start moving at any moment. Bo talks about Carly and then eventually they put the lid back on the casket and everyone leaves but Bo and Billie. Bo still can't believe that Carly's dead. Billie gives him a rose to put on the casket and tells him if he wants to talk, she's there. He tells her he just wants to be alone so she goes. He tells Carly that she broke her promise to him to grow old with him. He eventually leaves and Vivian and Ivan, who have been circling the block in a limo, arrive back in time for Carly to be buried. Carly's eyes pop open just in time to hear the earth being piled on the casket. After the grave is filled in Viv gets down to ground level and rolls around on top of the grave, telling Carly she did it for Lawrence. Carly wakes up totally and a red light comes on, enabling her to see where she is. She begins to bang and claw at the lid as Vivian above her laughs maniacally. In Chicago, Jack and Kate pull off the deal. Kate pulls out all the stops, trying to find reasons for Jack to stay, but Jack leaves and rents a car to get back to Salem.
Bo dreams that Carly is still alive. Caroline wakes him and he decides he has to get out of there. Meanwhile, Billie saw the gunman and the gunman saw Billie. She stows away on Bo's boat and as Bo is setting sail he thinks he hears Carly's voice. She is screaming - in her grave!
Bo and Billie talk about Carly, guilt and fathers. Vivian torments Carly via the two way radio. Victor visits the slightly psychotic Vivian in need of herbs and tells her he doesn't want her to leave town.
The wake continues at the pub. Rebecca warns Kristen off John, but Kristen tells the witch that even if she was interested in John, she wouldn't go after him. Rebecca follows her outside and they argue. Kristen tells Rebecca that she is trying to keep her patience. John gets involved and a gunman is aiming at the trio. A shot is fired and Rebecca is hit They take her o the hospital where Tom says she'll be alright.
Carly begs Vivian to let her go, saying that she'll play dead and leave town but Viv refuses. Nikki and Lawrence come in from a ride fighting. Nikki goes upstairs and Lawrence tells Vivian that Carly's death is tearing him apart. He doesn't think he'll be able to go on. Later Vivian gives Ivan the radio to put away. Ivan drops it and it turns on. Carly begs him to dig her up, not realizing he helped Vivian. However Ivan is feeling pretty guilty about all this, but Vivian discovers him with the radio.
Vivian tells Carly not to count on Ivan, and also tells her that Bo has gone away. Carly says she will count on Lawrence then. Vivian says that she has a surprise for Carly, she's going to set up a little entertainment to show her how quickly they have gotten over her. They set up a tea party and Vivian switches the radio so that Carly can hear them, but they can't hear her. However, Vivian's plan backfires as Nikki gets really upset over Carly's death. Lawrence takes him upstairs and Vivian wonder's what she's done. She tales some more herbs - the last of what she has and tells Ivan to get some more. The irrationality takes over again and she tells Ivan that Carly is going to die.
Billie has a nightmare that someone is chasing her, but she won't tell Bo about what happened. The gunman however, tracks her down and while Bo is gone, jumps out at her in the woods. She runs, with flashlight in hand until he catches up with her. She hears him laugh and shines the flashlight in his face. She begins to shake her head, repeating "No. No way." Until she says "No way Daddy, you're dead. No. No." Curtis doesn't really explain a whole lot to Billie, other than telling her he was the gunman and he was forced to do it or she and Austin would be killed. He tells Billie that he needs help and she's the only one that can help him but she runs back to the campsite where Bo tells her about the shooting which was on the radio. However, she doesn't say anything.
Carly begs Ivan to let her out but Vivian catches him again. Nikki has a nightmare and won't be comforted, he just wants his mother. Ivan tells Vivian that she can end Lawrence and Nikki's suffering right now if only she'll tell them but Viv refuses. Later Ivan gets hold of the radio again. Carly has run out of water and is running out of oxygen. She begs Ivan to get her out saying that if he doesn't, he'll hear her gasping for breath and pleading with him, every day of his life. However, Vivian catches him, yet again, and tells Carly that this is the last time they will talk. Meanwhile, Ivan has filled the empty herb bottle with tea. Vivian has a nightmare that Carly is choking her and when she wakes up, Lawrence comes downstairs and says he dreamt about Carly too - this time she was calling his name. Vivian lies and tells Lawrence that she dreamt that Carly was saying goodbye, telling her to let go. Lawrence says yes they should, bit he's finding it so hard.
Nikki gets a picture of he and Carly that she sent before she 'died'. He gets upset and Lawrence takes him upstairs and Ivan brings the radio to tell Vivian that Carly is still alive. Viv just wants more herbs. Ivan puts some of the 'herbs' in her tea but Vivian says that they taste different. Ivan tells her that he used another brand of tea and that's why it tastes different. Nikki comes down and tells Vivian that Lawrence is taking Carly's death pretty hard and asks what they can do to help. Later, Vivian takes the herbs straight and discovers that they're not the herbs at all, she's going through withdrawal. Ivan says that he's trying to help her because the herbs are driving her insane but Viv demands that he go and get some more.
Bo and Billie head back to Salem and Bo heads to the station and gets on the shooting case. Billie goes to tell Austin about Curtis but Jenn is with him. Jenn has told Austin that Bella wants to do a cover story on them and Austin tell Billie that if Curtis were alive, that would ruin both their lives. Carly is close to running out of air and Vivian is close to the herbs wearing off. Lawrence overhears Vivian mention the plan and she tells him she's planning a trip to Europe. They tell Nikki that they're going tomorrow but her throws a tantrum and refuses to leave his mother. Viv can't take it anymore and tells Lawrence that Carly is still alive. Lawrence doesn't believe her and she reminds him of the night he saw her dressed as a nurse. Ivan confirms her story and gives Lawrence the radio, but Carly is already unconscious.
Billie goes down to see Bo at the station and convinces him to come to her place and she'll make him dinner. However, when she gets home, Curtis is there. He tells her he needs her help, somewhere to stay and explains how it is that he's still alive. Bo turns up and Curtis scoots into a bedroom and Bo offers to make Billie something to eat since she hasn't gotten anything. They make dinner and then he finally goes. Curtis works out that Billie is in love with Bo. He's about to leave when Billie tells him she might have somewhere for him to stay. She goes to check it out and he calls someone and says that if John and Kristen get close they all know what will happen.
Lawrence tries to call the police but Vivian tells him that they only thing that can save Carly is an antidote and Western medicine will kill her. Dr Wu arrives and confirms this and they all race down to the cemetery. Lawrence and Ivan dig the earth out of the grave but Carly looks pretty lifeless when they get her out. However, Lawrence feels a slight pulse and starts giving her the kiss of life. Meanwhile, Bo has decided to visit Carly's grave.
